Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

Raiden had finally made it home. He was uncertain how he had ended up so far from the Dragon's Teeth that littered Empyrean's outer reach, but the land had shifted times before, so perhaps the one he had visited shifted with unfortunate timing. Disorienting, to say the least, inconvenient at most, but the man of thunder had always enjoyed roaming beyond his family's claim. It was for that reason that he had trekked back to the new expanse by the Nameless Mountain.

Plateuish cliffs jutting out as water thawed and cut the cliff faces. Some would surely thunder come summertime, but for now, they were almost peaceful in their time-frozen wonder. Perhaps this territory would bring more food for Empyrean's mouth depending on the local herds and how frequently they were targeted.

His questions would go unanswered for the time being, a mix of mystery left for his exploration and the span of time that stretched to warmer days. A pale figure drew his eye, tall and lithe amongst clinging snow. Her shade was warm enough to stand out from the frosted heights, darker points gracing her with a hint of sunkissed beauty in those long legs. Raiden paused along his path to watch before realizing he might appear a creep should she notice. Instead, he'd make himself known with the clear of his throat as he approached to look at the unrippened berries she plucked at like a starved dove.

“More of that and there will be nothing left for spring.”
