A series of walls and flat stone tiers that carve deep into the earth. Once cut by a grand river, the gulch runs dry, accompanied by howling winds that whistle during heavy storms. The rock is especially barren, accented by what little greenery manages to grow through the cracks. Trees are short, often felled by the wind or their own weight as they run out of room for roots to spread with new growth. Varrious creatures, notably goats, snakes, or bears, are occasionally spotted, though most keep to the paths along the cliff walls as storms have brought flash flooding or rock fall. It would be wise to follow their example and pass through quickly.
