Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

edgy awakening scene for my boy ! Feel free to hop in if you wish <3

As though brain collided with earth, then shatter him whole. The one above had casted him down, his family down, to make one and whole with the earth. And there was pain.
A great pain.
A much greater pain that had been felt when his brothers and sisters retaliated against him. To feel sword and flesh and then having must piece oneself back together with shattered means.

No, this pain burned throughout his entire body. And so when finally his pale eyes awoke, the man screamed in writhing agony. Wretched searing through his flesh, and the beast rolled about the ground as if to stave off a flame. Though there was no flame, only the burning it left behind as it arose.

He tried to unfold his wings but found them lost to him. Leaping into the air only to come back, hard, onto the cold and wet ground. The rain did not soothe his pain, only made him into a twisted mess of cold and hot. The fur among his body soaked.

His mind having no option but to face the question of why. Why had God given him this experience? He could not remember.
Had he done something to deserve such treatment? He had been loyal and faithful to god, at least as he thought. Memories struggled to return out of the chasm like void of his mind, trying to pull them up like fish in a net. Yet they stirred and fought against his boat, threatening to pull him asunder.
Such thought did not last, as the man groaned and wailed. Tears did flee from his shattered vision, the pain so monumental yet of no particular origin.

The man attempted to pull himself along, the agony making him nearly crippled as he went but, the son of God went on. Somewhere to lay from the cold pitter patter above him and suffer in safety.

Uriel spent time watching a few bison that roamed nearby the glade. She found them pleasant, almost drawing her to a dream-like trance that would soon enter to a slumber.. However the pitter of the rain startled upon this watch, and she gazed to the clouds above. A light drizzle was hanging.. But the clouds in the distance were darkened far more, bringing what was an evening to even darker before the night set. The rain would get worse, she assumed, and knew it was best to head back to the glade.. However some noises, which had her golden ears twitch, grabbed Uriel's attention and she curiously peered over a hill..?

Was someone there?
