Indeed, the bait was taken. A glint was hidden there- just for a moment, a grasping of words like fingers upon a silken shawl. Untrustworthy, danger, delectable darkness that reeled in her thoughts. Logic would say to leave. Logic would say to dismiss, but there was that lingering pull. That
thrill that tapped along the etches of her mind, along her spine. Pulling her closer, like an unseen chord, the tension grew. And with it, Sorina's curiosity.
OH! How she had missed this, a dance with someone like minded. When was the last time she had played this game? For too long had she been in slumber.
“purgatory,”
An amused hum rumbled from her dark lips.
Indeed, she knew. All too well. This ebb-this weighted drain. This feeling of...
“hatched from a land of ice, you could say,”
"How.. convenient."
Ah. Souls alike. Did the winds call her name? Did the serenity of the snows yearn for her paws?
"Hurts, does it not? That ache you cannot replace..."
. "i was ripped from it. torn from the only thing I ever knew and cast here like a piece of carrion. “a viper does not belong in the heat,”
Just like her.
A pause. In her time upon this world, Sorina had met many. Many from all walks of life. Hailing from far and wide- chaos, darkness, light and inbetween. Yet no one had spoken of their past, no one had divulged such similarity.
“a viper does not belong in the heat,”
That for once, was the Queen of Ice stunned with words? As the woman slithered closer, there came a blink of icy eyes that did not panic- did not flee, but
widened with...awe?
Dare a breath hitch in her throat.
“i imagine you have lost much,”
And there, she came back. A snap, a twinge.
Pain. Hit her chest. And oh, ever the politician, the master at her own craft. That mask returned, and her head that was still oh so proud, now tilted ever so slightly to the right as her gaze turned sharp. How that heavy ache sucked the breath out of her chest.
How it burned etches in her brilliant mind.
How it
stole everything from her.
“do you wish to take it all back?”“a queen needs a kingdom, does she not?”
"I will stop at nothing,"
Sorina began, like the phoenix from the ashes.
"To take back what is mine."
Instead of flames, she would sit atop that icy throne,
her birthright.
"The northern snows call my name. And my question, oh viper."
Now it was Sorina's words, that hissed from her jaws like winter's morn'. Another step forward, oh so close to the woman- almost close enough to whisper in her ear. So her head uplifted, aiming the words not to whisper- but to entice.
"Is will dare to fill that void...help me take it back?"
