Somehow, some way, he had managed to claw his way out of that desolate wasteland of jagged mountains and thorny bramble, stumbling into a realm that was just as rocky but so much greener and lusher than its neighbor. It was practically dripping with life. The thunderous roar of waterfalls echoed in the distance, a siren's call even from his current spot. Towering evergreens—robust and thriving—crowded the landscape, their sharp, bitter scent weaving through the air and practically slapping him in the face.

He took a moment to soak in the spectacle, a darkly satisfied smirk creeping across his face as he searched for a river to rest beside. The hope was to try his hand—or paw in this case—at fishing, because let’s be honest, he needed to eat soon. The tightening in his belly was a rude reminder that his stomach was starting to play the hunger game. Those bleak mountains he'd left behind didn’t have much to satisfy his cravings, so he was keeping his fingers crossed for a little luck in this new, thriving biome he found himself in. Nothing like a potential banquet to put some fire back in his belly. He might even camp here for the time being—just enough to allow himself to catch his bearings and orient himself with his new body.
