The wind howled through the valley like the wailing of the forsaken.
The Grand Sin stood at the edge of a precipice, looking down upon the expanse of the discovered territory below. The land was bleak, jagged spires of stone piercing the sky like the broken ribs of a fallen titan. Mist clung to the valley floor, swirling in restless tendrils, as if the very air recoiled from the presence of something ancient and malevolent.
It was perfect.
Slowly, he descended, feet crunching against the brittle rock. The energy here was thick, pulsing beneath the earth, raw and waiting to be harnessed. This valley was not dead—it was sleeping, waiting for a will strong enough to claim it.
The twisted formations of stone loomed overhead, creating natural fortifications that no army could easily breach. The deep chasms and winding paths would break the advance of any fool who dared approach without invitation. And the silence... the heavy, unbroken silence... it was sacred, an unmarked grave for civilizations that had come before.
Reaching the heart of the valley, where a massive, jagged outcrop rose above the rest—a natural throne carved by time and ruin. He ran a calloused paw along the stone, feeling the weight of it, the history ingrained in its cracks. It had stood for centuries, unmoving, untouched. Just as his covenant would.
He turned, surveying the valley one last time. No kingdom of gold, no castle of marble, no temple of light could match this place. This would be their foundation, their stronghold—a home forged in the bones of the earth itself.
Lifting a hand, he let his acclaimed power seep into the land, claiming it, awakening it. The air shuddered. The valley seemed to breathe, acknowledging its new master.
“This place is ours now,” he murmured, his voice swallowed by the wind. “Here, the Covenant of Sins will rise.” As would he.
And from the depths of Jaggedspine Valley, the first echoes of something dark and unstoppable began to stir.
