 A sharp rasp - akin to a wail, made her ears ring among the otherwise still afternoon air. Her limbs seemed to curl into herself by instinct at the sudden feeling of vulnerability – she was lost, injured, weak, and no longer alone. The hackles among her spine pricked defensively. ’Who’s there?’, the voice called.

“Who asks?”

 A demand of her own, to combat the presence of the foreign voice. Though her body hung low, and her forearms stood close to her underside. Ellie did not feel safe in the slightest – did not feel as confident as her tone led on. A low growl began to rumble within the girl's chest.

 Olive hues darted anxiously to her left, then to her right - seeking the source of the present stranger.
