Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

Gone.
They were gone, likely dead, and Ravenna had died with them. Or at least she was certain a part of her had, and it was, perhaps, the only part of her that had been remotely close to salvageable. The closest thing to innocent that she had, and it was torn asunder with the loss of them. All that remained was skin, bones, and a lifetime full of sins.

She should have known better than to think she could have had it; a family. Ravenna had trusted Tove, grown comfortable around Tove, and in turn, Tamir, in the way he had been determined to earn her comfort. She was a goddamn Omen, and she would destroy all that came close, if given the chance. And she did. Destroyed them, most certainly the reason she was now here without them in a body that didn't feel quite right, but when had her body ever felt right?

Ever felt like hers?

She had never been hers, always been Theirs, the Masters, and the Fates that went with him. Ravenna stared blankly into the distance, her ghostly gave dull despite the way they sat surrounded by darkness, and gone was the start of health that had started to reclaim her frame. Lump, dull fur coated a younger body, and Ravenna remained uncaring. What did it matter, when she was alone again, without them, and likely the reason they were most certainly dead.

Alone again in a world that should've swallowed her. Devoured her. Cast her away for all the blood on her hands.

Alone, as she should be.

Long gone was the rumble of hunger banging against the bone bars of her rib cage, it's demands for food long since ignored and quietened. Thinner again, sharp angles and stripped of rounded flesh of youth, Ravenna longed for what she no longer had. She should never have had it in the first place, she knew. When was a sinner ever afforded a reward such as that? Instead she remained, haunted, plagued, a plague herself to a world that had no idea what festering damnation it cultivated in the form of her

Ravenna lay against the cool grass, her tears long since dried, and found that she had no idea what she was waiting for, in the end.
