don't stare

The sun beat brightly overhead, her eyes fluttered open to the sight of overhanging trees and a bright blue sky. She blinked again, half expecting that whatever this was had been a dream. Harlow rolled to her feet, shaking her pelt of the debris that linger in her sand-colored coat. She rubbed her eyes into her leg, taking another look at the scenery to see that it hadn't changed. Confusion swept over her. Where was she? The last she remembered was her leaving to go gather herbs and the next thing was waking up here.

How long was she out? She inhaled a deep breath, taking in the scents that surrounded her. All she could do was try and figure out where she was now, though it didn't leave her any less confused. The most concerning thing to her was what happened with her family. Did they end up here too? Harlow looked around before she took off in the opposite direction as she hoped, prayed even, that they were somewhere close.
