Her lupine body was well suited to the tasks set for Endellion to receive her new name for the order. Athletic muscles were worn and aching by the time she successfully retrieved her stick. The once dragon’s maw gripped the branch between her jaws, holding it gently enough to make sure she did not splinter the wood. Climbing the mountain trail leading to the communal dens was tiring yet worth it when she finally reached her destination. Eagerly, the dragon-wolf trotted over to Ryu and presented her stick like a proud golden retriever. “Yo,” she announced her arrival after she placed the branch on the ground. Odd gem-like eyes gleamed with a measure of pride and weariness. “I have completed my tasks,” she said, taking a moment to sit on the ground with a thump and rest her aching limbs. “Walking is very inefficient,” she clicked her tongue and sighed. “In my previous form I could have flown here without wasting all of this energy. Wolves lack of wings is inconvenient.”

She did not expect Ryu to agree with her, having lived her whole life as a wolf after all, but surely a terrestrial creature could see the benefits of flight?
