It hadn't been long since she came to this realm.

Tallulah felt her muscles stiffen with lack of use. She wanted to spar a bit but found nobody thus far on the Plains all morning. Thankfully, she would come across a large man with blackened colors. "Howdy, sir" she began, approaching him but stopping a respectful distance away "you wouldn't happen to want a friendly spar, would ya?"

She paused, letting it sink in. "No goin' for the throat, not a lot of bleedin'... No bad and deliberate injuries either." The woman told him her terms, wondering if he agrees. He looked to be a tough cookie, but one could never know for sure. If he'd rejected her, she'd move on. No skin off her back.

In truth, the large black-coated sire had been itching to get his muscles moving. Sure, he had been walking throughout all of this place in which he had found himself. From the desert, to the forests, and now to the plains. Luckily for him, he ran into another wolf as he walked along the slowly rolling hills. She seemed to find it quite easy to approach him, though she did stop a decent distance away. But her question would be one that would give a bit of light to his eyes.

"It's been quite a while since I've been asked that," he replied. "But I'd never turn down a friendly little spar." She laid down her terms quite clearly; Aloysius was never picky when it came to things like that. He always fed off the energy of the wolves around him. He nodded his head in agreement before taking long strides closer. Not too close, of course, but close enough for any of his attacks to strike without too much trouble.

However, he wouldn't make his move just yet. He lowered his head slightly, tensing his muscles to be prepared for anything. Light blue hues would never leave the female's body, doing his best to anticipate if she would be the one to strike first.

He seemed agreeable enough. Tallulah grinned, but she also dipped her head respectfully. "Thank ya, sir" she replied to him, noticing he came a bit closer. She squared her defenses away - eyes narrowed, tail tucked and ears pinned - before the first move was made. It seemed that would be up to her.

The woman paused for a moment before she rushed him. Her jaws opened as she attempted to close them around the top of his scruff. Not his lower neck, not under his chin, where the blood veins roamed easier. She even tried to rise a bit in height, lifting a paw to drape over his shoulder as she grabbed.

Whether this worked or not was beyond her. Friendly spar, not life or death here.

She thanked him for accepting her offer, but Aloysius was already finding any possible weakness in the female that he could. And then took her own defensive stance, with narrowed eyes and tail high in the air. He was awaiting the first move, in case something went wrong. Then he couldn't be much to blame; after all, he could say that she was the one that struck first.

As the female took action in her own paws, he wasn't quite prepared as she rushed him rather quickly. She caught up to him faster than he anticipated, as agile as he considered himself to be. Her body lifted over him slightly as she grabbed his scruff in her jaws. Her paw even managed to drape over his back; something that he wouldn't allow to happen so easily.

Twisting around, he found himself faced with a soft and exposed underbelly. While his instinct told him to bite on whatever he could grab, he knew that it would probably draw more blood than he would like. Instead, he rammed his head into her belly with hopefully enough force to remove her from his back. Fluidly following the impact he would roughly jerk his head to push her further. Hopefully, this move wouldn't turn sour on him.

He moved quickly, recovering from her attack in an expert manner. She was almost impressed, with nothing else to go on but his previous words. Too long, he said, since someone asked. Tallulah tried to dig into his scruff with her teeth, just as he rammed his skull into her stomach. She would let out an 'oof', breath leaving her -

But she refused to let go of her hold. Not at first.

The man's attack had succeeded in her slipping backward almost. Her leg on his shoulders fell, trying to find balance. She recoiled like a snake, aiming another controlled bite into the side of his neck. Now that she was forced down, she couldn't raise herself - not again, not risking it. The side of the neck would have to do. She did try to hold onto it again.

 Whether that would work again...

She was smaller than him, after all. He could just flick her off like a flea, unable to gain a foothold on him. An upper hand was lost to genetics. Her folks, unknown to Tallulah, hadn't been the tallest. She more or less 'nom'ed the man's neck, remembering no blood. Not if they could help it.

He could admire the smaller wolf's commitment to her attack on his scruff. But as he landed his attack on her ribs, she let out a sound and slipped back a little. Her leg left from atop his back; progress, at least a little. But still, she held on rather strong. A small frustrated growl escaped him as he was about to attempt again. But before he could, her jaws left the top of his neck. A brief reprieve that didn't last very long as she prepared her second strike.

This time, being a bit shorter than him, her jaws collected around the side of his neck. Not enough to break the skin or get through much of his thicker fur. But she was a bit like an annoying fly on his side. She was in such a position that didn't allow him to do much but twist around. But that would look rather silly, so he took a single moment to think.

It wasn't the best attack, but he attempted to turn his head around and open his jaws rather wide. He aimed to grab a hold of anything; an ear, a cheek, anything.

It would seem they were both tiring.

The monochrome-colored man's attack was listless at best - but she shouldn't talk. Her hold grew weakened and she slipped from his neck, thrown off by the man's turning of his skull. The surprise did flicker across her features briefly before she stepped back. Away from his grasp, even if his teeth grazed her cheek.

She faced him now, hackles up but not actually aggressive. Tallulah wondered if she'd get a second wind or not. Staring at him, she began to circle and try to make her move. Looking for an opening now that she was off, another hold perhaps. She did not make strides, waiting. Waiting. Seeing what he'd do.

15 HP / 3 attack (fixed the HP from my last post as well, my bad)
Bot Roll Channel - 1d10 roll

His attack was just as lackluster as he had expected. But it seemed the movement of his neck was enough to loosen her hold on him. As she backed away, his teeth only seemed to barely graze her cheek furs. Putting some distance between them allowed both to catch their breath a little. He wasn't exactly tired, but he certainly was out of his game on this spar. But it was good practice for him. His expression was serious, something that was strange for him; not that the female in front of him would know that.

As she seemed to be waiting for his attack, he allowed himself a moment to think. Perhaps a moment longer and he would be able to come up with some kind of idea. She was circling him, but not attempting to move toward him. He waited until her hind end was going to pass him before sidestepping slightly and lurching forward. He opened his jaws and aimed towards her tail, a sensitive spot on most wolves. If he could grab it, he would plant his paws firmly behind her to make it more effort for her to be able to reach around and land her attack on him.

Bot Roll Channel - 1d10 roll - no problem! i didn't tbh notice lol

The fight was drawing on them both, she could see it clearly, yet neither was willing to yield. Not yet. She gasped lightly as he snapped his teeth around her tail, and Tallulah twisted on the spot so her front lunged at him. Her jaws tried to snap at his face, trying to let his instinct of letting go in favor of protecting himself reign.

Of course, if he didn't let go she would do no real damage to him. Her teeth closed around his cheek fluff if allowed, a loose hold that caused no punctures or wounds. She tried to tug him a bit as he held her tail. It was like watching two dogs playing tug-of-war. Neither of them letting go, but also too playful to do any real harm.

12 HP / 5 attack
Bot Roll Channel - 1d10 roll

His attack landed, surprising him just a little. But as he felt the tail in between his jaws, he bit down. Enough to have a decent hold, but of course not enough to draw any blood or cause any real harm. Just more of an annoying tugging as he pulled his moved his head. He wanted to shake much more violently, but he wasn't sure that would be the best move at the current moment.

Even though the female gasped, she quickly recovered from his attack on her tail. Her jaws came at his face as she twisted around, but that wasn't what made him let go. He held for a moment until her teeth found a slight hold of his cheek fluff. Twisting his own head around, he let go of her tail and aimed his own jaws at her neck. He made sure to go higher than normal, just wanting to grab a decent amount of flesh to not cause harm, but enough that he could have a decent grasp. If he did, he would attempt to pull her down with a jerk of his head. If not, he would just keep a hold of whatever he could get his jaws around.

Bot Roll Channel - 1d10 roll - wrap up?

He was a good fighter, all things considered. She learned a lot from thinkin', watchin', and doin'. But it was time to end this before both of them were too weary to continue on their way. It wouldn't be safe for them to tire themselves out, too exhausted from the spar to properly defend themselves. "Enough."

His mark hit true, and she felt his teeth upon her upper neck. Tallulah could only retaliate by pulling and yanking her neck away from him, trying to tuck her chin. She attempted to give him a nudge - just a soft headbutt - before placing distance between them. While strands of brown and cream did flicker to the ground, she was relatively 'safe'.

Just a bit sore from moving around, and were sure to be bruised the next morning. It didn't matter to her who 'won' in the end. He could boast and say she defaulted, for all she cared. The important thing here was that she got some practice in. Stepping backward, Tallulah huffed. She refused to show how out of shape she was.

"Thank ya fer the bout" she said courteously, her tail wagging somewhat "consider it a tie, if ya like" And "one day, I'd like a rematch" She lowered her head to her sparring partner "ye fight well."

His attack landed and jaws clasped around her neck. But it seemed just as quickly as he was able to, she was already ripping herself away from him. He went to go in for another, but she head-butted him away from her. It gave them a decent amount of distance between the two of them, but he was still in a defensive stance. He couldn't feel the soreness, not yet. That wouldn't come for some time after this little spar.

He was still preparing a second attack until she spoke up, deftly ending everything between them. He raised his head and allowed a cool look to spread across his features. He dipped his head ever so slightly before looking back up to her. "You were a formidable opponent. I'd be grateful to do this again if we ever find ourselves crossing paths." He wasn't so proud that he couldn't admit defeat; she probably would've bested him, though only barely.

With a swish of his tail, he turned around, slipping away just as quickly as he entered.

She would watch him go, quick as he came. It was fine with her; she had only approached him to spar. There was no reason given to stick around. As the dark man disappeared over the near horizon, she went back to her task - to improve herself. If she was planning on settling here, in Canis, she had to regain skills she thought lost.

Memory was a fickle thing. Instinct worked out better. Tallulah chuffed a farewell to the man, hopefully, he could hear it, before walking northeast. Back toward the mountain region. That was her path now. There was nothing for her in the Plains, at least not right now. Despite waking up here, she found little around the area but Miss Kore and her pack. There was still so much time before deciding anything for sure.
