^^
The girl had no business being as loud as she was nor as brave as she was. There had been a fox and she had seen it for what it was, what she had been told it was! Scum! Nymeria still wasn't sure what that really meant, she only knew that they were bad, thank you and so she went waddling after it, crazily barking -- or attempting to, they sounded pitiful, really -- and she was lucky it was a kit and not an adult, otherwise she would have been a snack.
Nymeria went racing on unsteady legs (her balance not quite what it should be but then she was just shy of 3 months, so really, she couldn't be blamed and maybe it was because she was a chunky little thing who could only hoped she would grow out of her puppy rolls sooner rather than later) through the bushes after the baby fox, squealing as she went with what she hoped was aggressive barks. The girl paid no mind to the way the broken branches swiped across her cheeks, her nose bridge, casting thin lines of crimson upon her young features as she emerged from the other side -- only to lose her balance entirely.
The girl was sent sailing through the air, tumbling to the ground with leaves, crimson and ruffled fur. Dramatic even as a wee babe, Nymeria opened her mouth and wailed, not noticing how the other side of the bush was nothing like the other, where she had been only moments ago.^^
