Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

the tundra land right beside the two mountains

Orlaith in a previous life, was friendlier. She had friends, at least some, or wolves who she could count in a friendly banter. In this life that was severly limited, where instead the nobles of Vanderfell saw her as a firecracker, something she was not yet aware of. Finding pleasure in a protectiveness. Though if the knowledge came to be, she would not be a very happy one to know how they saw her, especially as she was one who thought she was doing her best, to protect her claim. Especially to those who enter the craig so much, a free land of passing.. But many would take it to a delightful hunting ground with how abundant it was. She always made it clear, that it was Vanderfell land.

Thus her aggression caused a rift, to her packmates, and to all those around. She was isolated, and wasn't realizing it was completely of her own. Taking actions to her own hands and taking a bite rather then a discussion caused but a solitude.. Especially since the few adults within the pack were keeping to themselves, and the rest were children. She was often alone, and at times found herself wandering further and further.. Just in the hope, for something, someone to come along.

More often or not though, even that would resolve into a fight. A scar was aligned to her leg, and many healed underneath her pelt from fighting with others. She would isolate back to the fate's mountain, and now.. Came back around, into the tundra.

There was a wall to the mountains and the icy land, and it was directly her own mountain home. Crossing the peaks of so she would be faced by it's icy blast, and descend below. Orlaith was thankful for her plush pelt, and cautiously sniffed the wind as she landed to the neutral lands below.
