Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

They had a home and a name; a place to call their own. Since all logic seemed to evaporate with the wolves all randomly showing up after strange circumstances, it only made sense that they do with it what they could. Giving up was not in Genevieve's skill set, she was a survivor above all else. She found that whilst she missed elements of home, it felt good to be somewhere new. Even if she still wondered how, despite travelling with Roderick, they had managed to be ripped apart and she had shown up here alone.

It confused her and it was easy enough for her to look for his scent as she went about exploring her new home. Genevieve had been unable to sleep, her dreamscape being touched upon by the restlessness that would encroach when a nightmare was on its way. The Rose knew that soon, she would wake as if she had been living the attack all over again -- she just didn't know when it would be. She was always so restless on the days leading up to one, almost as if her brain was planning to torture her. It wasn't the case, she knew, ones brain could not pre-plan their dreams or nightmares yet some part of her thought there must be something towards it, for how would her body know and act so restless leading up to it?

Unable to lay and sleep, her fidgeting growing annoying to even her, the Rose had risen from her position and swept across the terrain nestled so sweetly between the mountains. The morning sun had woken and was starting it's ascension to the sky, peaking across the horizon as it's morning glow illuminated the earth. Genevieve inhaled the crisp morning air, her tail curling and uncurling at the lip as she roamed.

The world was something different during the early hours of the morning, where very few critters were awake. Her dandelion gaze opened, vibrant yellow escaping through her lashes as she cast her gaze around. She had long since shed the nerves of walking alone, deciding that fear would not rule her even if it scratched at the seams to be released. The lady swept across the grass, dropping her nose to the flowers as she inhaled their sweet scents. Soon she would need to work on her stash of plants, for healing and poison -- wanting to be prepared for everything.

For the moment, Genevieve just breathed.

Elowyn had been unable to sleep. There had been several things on her mind lately. The fact that she had to deal with Genevieve being around her husband, and making Anteon laugh and smile. On the one had she could have thought that was nice but it was just the way they smiled and the way the interacted. It made her insecure if she was good enough for Anteon, if he really wanted her. It just looked like they were more than friends, and it stung. It felt like she was 10 steps behind on everything. Elowyn hadn't been able to stand being around them when they were together.

Then there was the thing that that female had said to her. That arranged marriages were forced and that she never wanted that for herself. It made her think if she even wanted Anteon if she didn't get paired with him. He had been very nice to her and had not forced anything on her so far. In fact that had been the opposite. But then there was the previous matter of someone hanging around him she didn't seem to like. Something she also wasn't used to, but she just didn't like how the female made her feel.

And then there was the matter of Anteon asking her what she liked. It sounded like such a simple question but it wasn't. She liked plants and helping others by healing them. However, was this something she liked because it was taught as a skill by her mother. Or was it something she truly enjoyed doing? If she thought of something she wanted to do then she would often think that it was nice to protect herself. But that was something that wasn't allowed, at least not in Heartmouth. She was mainly just curious.

With her mind occupied she didn't realize that the female that haunted her thoughts had been awake as well. Elowyn had been mindlessly walking through the open plains of the territory, in clear sight of the other female.

Amongst the flowers walked another, one that had Genevieve even thought in the realm of possibly, she would have known just how unkeen of her the other was. As it happened, the Rose hadn't thought herself something to think on as an other woman for a wife to her husband, so Genevieve saw Elowyn as simply shy -- around her at least. Casting her dandelion gaze up from the flowers, the lady blinked tiredly but a smile graced her delicate features as she cleared her throat softly, "Elowyn," the fire-touched woman cooed warmly.

It was a surprise to see someone else awake in the wee hours of the morning though she supposed she was not the only one with sleeping troubles. "A surprise to see you awake," the Rose commented, concerned as her vibrant gaze washed over the Queen with an air of curiosity. "Are you well?" something settled irrationally in her chest as the wonder if anything had happened in her absence -- but she knew it was just her restless bones that told her to touch base with panic.

In the flowers she stood, petals tickling against her legs. The leg that she had been found with, bleeding against her white fur was now healed, an angry little scar left in it's place -- breaking up the otherwise pristine appearance that she held. Only Tetsujin would know how untrue that was, how her nape amongst the fur was littered with marks of gripping teeth. She shivered as she swallowed, continuing to smile as she waited quietly for Elowyn's response.

When she heard her name being called Elowyn was quite startled. She had jumped to the side and looked around her. The golden woman’s eyes settled on the red and white furred female before her. Oh no. That was her first thought. She was the last wolf she wanted to see at the moment. She really didn’t feel more insecure and was almost certain the woman was going to make her feel that way. Her ears had been pinned back with shock before she unfroze a little on the spot she jumped to. Elowyn realized that it might not be normal for her to be out and about.

She dipped her head in greeting not yet trusting her voice in this moment. When the other female looked concerned about her well being she briefly wondered if it was real. If she had been doubting or had been feeling unwell that would probably all work in Genevieve’s favor. Then she could easily steal Anteon from her, if that was her big plan. Elowyn noticed that she had been silent and realized that she probably had to speak now. “I’m fine,” she told her quietly. The other female was little aware of the effects the attack still had on the rose. Not that Elowyn cared, almost a little self absorbed with her own problems. She should maybe ask why the female was awake but the golden female really didn’t feel like asking about Genevieve’s feelings. It would mean she might have to open up about hers.

She hadn't meant to startle Elowyn yet it had happened, the other woman nearly jumping out of her skin! It took the other a little longer than she had anticipated to get over her initial shock, Genevieve's dandelion gaze watching the movement of the ears before they settled upon Elowyn's own face. She wondered when the other would seem more at ease with her, like she seemed to be with Aerith. Gen knew that others needed time and space but she could admit to wanting more of a relationship with Elowyn, especially given her marriage to her best-friend! The lady was of patient stock, though, she she would wait all the time she needed.

Elowyn told her that she was fine, her voice quiet on the night air. Genevieve hummed in thought as she cast her dandelion gaze to the night sky and from her lips she uttered a delicate sigh, lifting one petite paw to brush along the petals. "Sometimes I think that it is quite unfair that we are designed to sleep during the night," Genevieve mused softly as she watched the stars twinkle, "for the night sky is too pretty to be slept upon." The Rose thought she would sooner take the night than the day yet more often than not their body told them the day was for living and the night for sleeping.

"It feels almost criminal," Genevieve uttered lightly, her voice full of jest as she cast her gaze from the dancing sky back to Elowyn.

Elowyn turned her gaze up at the sky when the female mentioned it. She could see the dark plane that was littered with flecks of light. It was a clear night. Elowyn had never been too invested in the stars though mainly because her mother told her to focus on other duties that were of more use to her later. She wasn't sure if she would call it pretty, the night sky at least. She loved the sunset, and twilight, and dawn. The moment when the skies changed color. Elowyn slowly turned her gaze to the other. "Well no one is forbidding you to stay up at night," she commented quietly. Perhaps if the red and white female was more awake at night she wouldn't be around Anteon during the day...

"Why would you describe it as a criminal?," she asked then. Sure, she liked the changing of the skies. The lights were pretty but it didn't hold her attention for longer than a few minutes. She wondered what Genevieve's opinion was about it. Then again, she couldn't help but think that a skill like that, star watching, could offer any benefits to the pack. The golden female would rather keep that opinion to herself though. She schooled her features, not showing anything that could give a signal of dislike. "Is that why you are awake?"

At the quiet comment, the Rose supplied a soft giggle as she shook her head, "no wolf, certainly. Though I find my body is drawn to the day whilst my heart calls for the night." Her body continuously told her that night time was for sleep time, as it did to many others, but there was an unfairness about it that the stars may dance and her eyes would miss out on the show. The nights where she was being terrorised by her memory were the nights where she could watch the stars and bathe in the moonlight but it... it was tainted by the reason why she was awake in the first place.

As Elowyn enquired after why she would think it criminal, the Rose would smile softly as her dandelion gaze was then cast upon the dancing sky, "the stars dance for us, way up there in the shadowed sky. They dance and only a few can see," her tail curled to her haunches, twitching as her ears cuffed forward as she felt the wind ruffle through her fine strands. "We miss a show of a life time when we are hidden behind closed eyes. The moonlight touches things in a way that seems... otherworldly," Genevieve mused softly, her dusty pink nose flaring as she breathed in the fresh scent of the night. "It is like a fantasy for real life," it contradicted itself in every way but it was how it felt, at least to the Rose.

Genevieve knew that Tetsujin would not reveal her secret to anyone, not even Elowyn, for it was not truly his story to tell -- so she was not surprised upon the question as it toppled from the Queen's mouth. She smiled instead, serene and warm as she cast her gaze from the dancing sky and settled them upon Elowyn, "sometimes I like to just watch. It is a moment to breathe when the world is quiet and your responsibilities may not be as dire." It was a moment to breathe, gasping horrible breathes as she fought her way from a night terror. Unlike the way she hadn't fought her way away from her attacker. "It has been quite the change of scenery," she commented, they had all been poofed into existence of somewhere that they had never been nor planned, adjusting was something that was needed but not always quite so easy.

She wondered if that was why Elowyn was awake, unable to feel sure-footed when they were all getting used to their new home.

Elowyn noticed she gritted her teeth quietly when the other giggled. She never felt so conflicted towards the day and the night. She didn't feel that comfortable with the night, and the darkness. She wasn't used to being out in the dark. She had been far too controlled by that in her previous pack. Now she had that freedom, and it was strange to feel that type of freedom. Plus with her mind overthinking most things lately, she couldn't really rest enough to settle down to sleep.

Elowyn's lightly dotted brows rose when the female spoke of the dancing stars. The golden female then let her face fall into a frown. She hadn't heard anyone talk about the stars in that way. And frankly she never saw the stars dance if she was honest. Elowyn disliked that idea that she didn't know about this. It made her feel like she was stupid. It was mostly her own insecure mind that told her that rather than Genevieve did that.

Elowyn just quietly listened to when the other female just continued. Perhaps Elowyn regret asking her about this topic. She just nodded at the appropriate moments to indicate that she was listening. Her heart sank a little because perhaps Genevieve was far better than her, she sounded intellectual with her knowledge of the stars and how well spoken she sounded. Elowyn nodded quietly, even when the female seemed to gasp out her words. 'It is," she then confirmed, her voice soft. Elowyn's green eyes scanned over the other's face. "I should leave you to your quiet moment then," she wished and made her way to leave.

Elowyn seemed eager to be out of her company, the Rose thought though she couldn't understand why -- though perhaps she did. It was the night, after all, and the Queen was likely starting to feel the tiredness that came with it. "If you wish," she agreed softly though her dandelion gaze remained upon the earthen woman for a few moments before she said, "should you find yourself unable to sleep any other night, perhaps you might find me to be good company." Though little did she know how unlikely it may be, so Genevieve offered it kindly as she swayed her tail behind her.

"Sleep well, my Queen, a new day awaits," the Rose supplied warmly as she dipped her head in respect and bidding her good night, though to bed the Rose did not go. Instead she settled her rump to the ground and cast her nose towards the sky as she watched them dance.
