(kind of just a lot of rambling, will close up in a few days if no replies since it's a wee hard to reply to~)
Annika wanted to see @Valeska, to show her the two lives that had come from her tryst with.. well, awkwardly, the man she had complained about the most. Every morning she rose and peered outside of her den towards the summit, wondering if by some miracle the little white wolf would be happening by. Of course she wouldn't, but that only meant she would be taking the pups to see their auntie when they were older. Impatient as she was, Annika wished them all the motor skills in the world.
She wondered briefly if Harper would have been interested to see them, too. They were her nieces, after all, but.. well, Harper had never looked at Annika as anything more than a cancer. Annika wouldn't be able to stomach the woman sneering at her children in a similar manner, would only see Hunk in the anger settled in the creases of her face. Although it pained her dearly to admit it, they had never been destined to be close. Their shared lineage was that and that alone, much to Annika's heartbreak. A sister would have been wonderful, but she only fucked things up when it came to Harper. If she stepped left, Harper wanted right and vice versa. It was frustrating, but joining the Wayfarers had been the best move for the both of them. Despite everything, Annika wished her sister well.
An ear swiveled to a muted cry from the back of her den. Ah, yes, breakfast. Annika swept back towards her girls, forgetting the rest of the world in the process.
