Gradually, Célnes now started to bring prey from the cache and deliver to them. Small bites, usually consisting of rabbit and boar pieces. Instinct told her it was time to adjust the weaning off, though they still continued to cry and crave for milk, but gradually, she started to reject their advances and place the gentle meat in front of them. She refrained from the knowledge it was meat, that was regurgitated.. Some were fine with it, though not all were too pleased.. Yet, had to remind herself, they are still growing.

She had noticed too they at times would attempt speech, but the words were slurred, and unable to properly form. All she did was chuckle and nod to whatever nonsense they tried to do - but, the Queen did promptly shut down any that attempted 'mama,' and reminded swiftly that she is to be called Mother. Though her love for her children was perhaps bigger then the hatred toward the white kin, she did not feel comfortable with such a sweet title.

Today, was one of those days that she watched them lounge outside the den, playing and frolicking, yipping and barking.. Peaceful, compared to the previous storm.

Now the world became clearer, and her many siblings were often playing amongst themselves, but she found it rather harsh and didn't enjoy being topppled often. Often did their mom pick up Vermillion and place her aside, as the child would always cry whenever one of her siblings became too rough. She wasn't a fan of pain, she was alright with being together and feeling warm.. Though she still couldn't get rid of the feelings upon being freshly born, and toppled on, fighting for milk - she didn't want that!

As the others were playing, she more or less was zoning out with a blue eye to the sky. Their eyes had yet to take the future shape that they were, a clear coating of a Deorwine color, and for now all adjourned but a beautiful baby blue look. Unknowingly so, her own would becoming a dazzling red, hinted to a liking of a more brighter kind then a deep ruby one. Her other siblings though would carry likewise, all one way or another, becoming a warm-touch.

She often would change her direction whenever a bird was in the sky, but remained planted by the den doors. She wanted to stay inside and just peer out.. Though Célnes did not allow them back in.

His robe of raw umber and deepest of dark chocolate had continued to flourish with his growth, the downy baby fluff slowly growing longer and eventually would become the glorious thick coat suited only for a proper duke. His appetite grew relentlessly and gorged on the meals his dam brought daily, shoving any prospect of an enemy a sibling out of his way to feast and fill the bottomless pit that was his stomach.
Today, on a nature's perfect afternoon, they were allowed to play out of the confines of their secluded, private digs.
@Aldritch was in line for being an excellent chew toy today. With little hop and skips, Warwick bounded toward his brother, and went straight to nibble his tail, with tiny teeth now growing through, he regularly had aching gums, and biting onto Mother, Vaskian, or other puppies were the best source to aid in alleviating the tooth pains. If his oblivious brother hadn’t moved out the way, Warwick chomped hard onto the small target of a tail, and waggled his head about in ferociousness; like the little ball of fury that he was not. Menacing growls came from him as he enjoyed his success. Had he not been successful, however, he would face plant the floor and huff, looking for another sibling to terrorize.

Maral, much like Vermillion, preferred to lurk. She was a watcher, always alert for naughty siblings that might want to chomp on her ears or her hide. As her sister lingered in wait for an opportunity to disappear into the whelping hollow and their other littermates played among themselves, the unholy daughter did her best to stay out of Warwick's reach.

He was especially bitey, that brother, but Maral hadn't yet mastered the art of snapping at him. She was a mostly silent child, and preventing an attack had so far proven easier than trying to fend one off. She saw Warwick prowl around, that familiar gleam of mischief in her eye, and was sure to place appropriate distance between he and herself as he set his sights on Aldritch. The further she was from him, the less chance of becoming his next target.

She set her attention on a large bumblebee as it buzzed lazily between dandelions, content to watch it for a little while.

While some of his siblings hated the gunk that replaced their milk, the young boy surprisingly took a liking to it fast. He was unsure at first, acting rather snobby in his preference, but he learned to like meat more, especially if it was boar. Speaking was still a work in progress, but really it was for all his siblings so it wasn't something he had been ashamed of, even if "mother" was something he tripped on regularly.

He longed to stretch his legs outside the den. He liked playing with his siblings, but there were so many of them that it made playing in the den hard, so when they were ushered out, he galloped freely (though he still tripped on his paws sometimes). He liked the freedom of running, no matter how sloppy his gait was. Evidently, his paws would be the downfall of his siblings, or at least today as he saw @Warwick move for Aldritch. He wanted to play too! But he'd end up tumbling into his brothers.

"Soon.. You will all begin training." Though she could already see a few who bloomed into fine, rambunctious kids. Particularly, her eldest, Warwick, alongside with @Calhoun, @Rohesia and @Edith, and at times @Aldritch behind the rest. Though the others.. Were rather silent, perhaps distracted. They were far more 'gentle' to say the least, often lurking rather then of fighting amongst the rest. It was an already divide as she so saw, the strongest to the weakest, but regardless of all status..

Soon @Remus would begin their training, and now of course, formally so, was the man who sired them all, @Vengeance who would join. She knew neither of their methods, though trusted, as Célnes would be within their noble teaching. To remain a strong Deorwine, and sacred at heart.. A devious smile, as she watched them play.

Now was the time to look them over, their last meeting on the matter had been premature. When Celenes had first summoned Remus to look over her spawn they where still small writhing balls of fur.  They didn't yet have any soul or personality.  Perhaps now they would be ready.

Remus arrived, walking from the grove that he patrolled day by day. He strode in silently, observing each and every one of them, listening for who first had the heart to speak.

Edith had noticed a shift in their lives; slowly but surely, Célnes began to introduce her children to their new normal. Finally, they had started to eat meat, and they were able to explore a little further under supervision. Today, they were taking another step towards adulthood—their training was beginning. Although she was unaware of what "training" entailed, she was nevertheless thrilled.

"Ey!" Edith called to her siblings as she noticed them beginning to play. Picking up her ungraceful gait, she trotted towards the growing puppy pile and sussed her potential opponents. She noticed that @Warwick was using @Aldritch as a chew-toy, and that was what interested her most. As she drew closer, @Calhoun tumbled into her brothers. The wrench in her plans excited her; now this is what she was talking about! She loved when they played rough, and Calhoun's wrecking ball-like attack was exciting. With a shrill yap, Edith lunged herself into the fray, hoping to grab hold of one of Aldritch's ears.

skipping children.

"Hello Remus," Célnes saw the man in the distance as he watched her bundles. They mostly kept silent besides the few squeaks, though Edith was often talkative, but her mind couldn't wrap around particular words and often simple jumbled them out, compared to Calhoun, who held sentences a bit more strongly. They were all fairing.. Accordingly, as she hoped at least. There didn't seem to be development delays.

"Some are.. More out then others, perhaps that can change with time," the Queen said while eyeing Melrose, Vermillion and Edith.

The bee was a large one, with bold black and yellow stripes. Maral followed it quietly with her stormy eyes, curious of its movement as it buzzed among the long grasses. She wondered how such little wings held up a body so large in comparison, and moved in to better investigate when the insect settled itself on the petals of a large orange flower.

She hovered over the bug and it was quick to take flight again. Maral followed until it crossed the boundary her mother had set for the pups, where she paused to gaze longingly in the direction her bumblebee had gone.

Not feeling an overwhelming excitement, assisting the tyrant with her spawn. Remus didn't make eye contact, simply looking into the distance with that Stony expression. "Courage begins at a young age... They must be desesnitized to their fear.". He paused looking them over. Watching one innocently persue a bee, while another yapped at their siblings

"Are they on solid food, a hungry pup, is generally much more motivated."

"My daughters seem to lack of." The Queen's sons were all ambitious and rowdy; showing neither signs of cowardness or shyness that the rest had. Though as it was, the majority of her litter was to be of the females, and there was three in particular that she felt needed the education. When looked at Maral, who was normally quiet, alongside of Melrose.. She of course took a quick glance to Vermillion, who was known to be a cryer.

"They are weaned," said the Deorwine woman, though they may attempt to try milk, she denied so - for solid food was a quick must.

Quick to accept that her bumblebee companion would not return for her to better examine, Maral turned away. She did not complain over the lost opportunity - did not complain over anything, really. There would be other new things to explore and greater things to see.

She lifted her cursed snout, and her dark eyes swept over the other cubs with quiet suspicion. Some rough-housed among themselves while others branched off alone, as she had, likely reluctant to fall prey to naughty brothers.

For the time being, she was safe from needle-like fangs.

Next, she sought her mother. Célnes observed her litter, but she was no longer alone. Another adult had cone to join the group, and Maral eyed him curiously as she veered around @Vermillion who sulked close by. She recognised him but didn't really care to learn his name, knowing just enough that he could be trusted. It was to the adults she roamed, her little tail waggling in silent greeting.

Vermillion enjoyed Maral and @Melrose the most ; as the general three were the.. Least rambunctious to say the least. Sometimes the rest would try to play with her, but she didn't like how aggressive they could be, and usually she ended up running away when they did. As a newborn, to now, she disliked the feeling if stiffling, a surrounding of her siblings, and their occasional pushing and shoving.

For a moment she looked over to her mother, who was talking to a man that only occasional heard his name. Re - miss? At times she could see him in the back, watching them like a hawk.. His gaze made her nervous, and she didn't really like coming out when he was around. Though Vermillion liked @Teodora @Calliope, and @Cynefrid! Some of them would bring flowers, that would be nice to smell until her brothers would end up destroying it..

When Maral came close, Vermillion sniffed her curiously.. She was clean from her brothers playing.

So they where on solid food... Remus took a moment to mull it over, remembering a phrase he once heard before: a hungry wolf will fight the most fearsome battles, at that same moment one of the pups seemed to gain curiosity in the adults. To most, the display of the pup would be heartwarming. But Remus would not find himself attached, nor play favorites. So, he only stared down momentary, calusly. He noted the other pup, that hung behind the curious one making a brief moment of stony eye contact.

"Let them be hungry for tomorrow, and bring them to the fallen oak that bridges the empty stream."

She rose a brow to his suggestion, but didn't object. Rather her tail brushed near one of her daughters, @Melrose, "She has been unwell lately. She will not be joining, but the rest.. Will see to it." Though she would like her frail rosen daughter to join, she felt that the child would not survive well during such a moments. The rest, rambunctious, some just but shy ; were all relatively healthy.

She would leave her to @Cynefrid tomorrow. Perhaps some time with the medic and healing would do well for the mean time. While she would induldge into food, ah, the rest.. @Warwick @Edith @Calhoun @Rohesia @Vermillion @Maral and @Aldritch, would experience their first night without the supply of food from Celnes.

Mother and her stoic companion did not pay her any attention beyond a glance, and she knew better than to loiter where her presence was unwanted. She blinked up at her dam's dark features one last time, briefly, but her serious conversation with Remus carried on - and she was too little to understand.

As she turned away, she found Vermillion to be close by. The darkest of the Déorwine babes regarded her littermate with her usual silence, though her raven ears pricked forward with interest. She let her draw near to sniff at her and reached to test her sister's scent in return, finding it nothing but familiar.
