a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

 "Ours as well... we are glad to have met you." Because where would they be if they had not? They wouldn't have such a wonderful friend or support system. They might have been digging around in the roots, just scraping to get by. Now they were flourishing and The Body had found their voice. Things were certainly looking up.

 Then they would gently touch their nose to their friend's cheek, a gentle show of gratitude for all they had done and for the happiness that was sure to come in the future.

 "Shall we hunt?" The snake hissed as the wolf's stomach would give a gurgle. With all of the excitement they were certainly ready for food now. It would be the perfect conclusion to such a fulfilling night.

The Whisperer is biologically female and others may see/notice and refer to them as such. The Whisperer does not normally notice gender and only notices others as "they". Whisperer always has the snake coiled about their neck unless otherwise stated; the snake is the only one that speaks.

The Whisperer is travelling with Aurora and she may jump into any of their threads.

‘Me too’, she smiled, and affectionately booped her head to theirs, before feeling her friends' moist nose push into her cheek. She adored them and cherished their friendship like no other.
 
Aurora was then reminded of the real reason they came out in the first place, she nodded in reply.
It was time for them to carry on with their evening and go about their hunting grounds.
