Please listen to this song <3 I adore it (thank you Tazi <3) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NU1gU4T7o0c
Fare thee well; my own true love
Farewell for a while; I'm going away
But I'll be back; Though I go 10, 000 miles
Farewell for a while; I'm going away
But I'll be back; Though I go 10, 000 miles
The sand between her toes felt warm, still cooling from the day's sunlight. The sea breeze was gentle and calm, the scent of the ocean refreshing as it always was. The Saltwoods thrived in these newly shifted lands, and the Siren was proud because of it.
But something was missing. had it always been so? Some bigger piece of her life that she couldn't quite put her paw on. She tried, desperately, to no avail; it was as if some cruel god had torn that piece from her and locked it away behind a wall that she could not break down.
10, 000 miles; My own true love
10, 000 miles or more; The rocks may melt
And the seas may burn; If I should not return
10, 000 miles or more; The rocks may melt
And the seas may burn; If I should not return
Her happiness slipped away as she walked along her their? shores. Color leeched from the twilight that came with the sun's setting, and Esmerelda only wondered if she had done something to deserve such ire; why else would she be made to feel so incomplete? How could she redeem herself in the eyes of this god? Worse than that, had it been the Mother of the Sea that looked so poorly upon her?
Oh don't you see; That lonesome dove
Sitting on an ivy tree; She's weeping for
Her own true love; As I shall weep for mine
Sitting on an ivy tree; She's weeping for
Her own true love; As I shall weep for mine
How long she had been standing, frozen upon the sand, the Siren could not say. She could only watch as the sun fell further and further below the ocean's waves. Something wet landed upon her paw; how fitting that it started to rain now, when this feeling consumed her? Perhaps it would rain through until morning, where she would awake alone in a den as she did every morning. Nothing changed, and yet it did.
Not a single cloud marred the beauty of the sunset before her, and yet still it rained, water falling to silvered toes and the sand around them.
Oh come ye back; My own true love
And stay a while with me; If I had a friend
All on this earth; You've been a friend to me
And stay a while with me; If I had a friend
All on this earth; You've been a friend to me
It took her too long to realize that it wasn't raining.
