It was as if everything was a dream. Delilah had been wandering for days, finding just enough food and water to survive along the way, and had eventually collapsed out of exhaustion. She lay sleeping in an unknown place, and when late morning came, she had finally awakened. Lying down on soft mosses beside a large tree, she looked up towards the sky. The sun was out, but it would not last for long as winter forced the sun to retired early.
While she was well-rested, she was hungry and thirsty, so she rose from her bed, and searched for water, first. After sniffing around the floor of the woods, she had tracked down a bubbling stream. She bent down to drink, lapping up the cool refreshing water as it brought relief to a dry mouth. After she had her fill, she brought her head up and looked around, her ears swiveling to catch any noises that may be present among the woodland. Her nose searched the air, only finding old or fading scents upon the breeze. Nothing of interest. With no knowledge of where she was, she thought it best to remain here, within the woods. She would explore, hoping to find some source of food. And so, she continued to wander around the woods.
