As soon as she had been able, Haku was on the move. She wouldn't go too far, but this freedom - this ability to move untethered - was addicting, to say the least.
She moved with no direction or purpose, basking in the midafternoon sun, oddly warm for this time of year but not overly so. The ground was hard packed beneath her feet, with plains stretching for miles in either direction.
It was overwhelming. It was terrifying. It was beautiful.
Tipping her head back, she let out a low howl, just because she could. Because there was no one there to silence her further. Because there was no one around her and she was alone and free to do whatever she wanted.
It was just too bad that Haku was not as aware of her surroundings as she might've thought.
