Appearance

Batwing is average height for a feral feline, a little stockier around the hips and broader at the shoulders, but otherwise carries a normal weight and build in his abdomen and limbs. His coat is a midnight black color that will lighten into a charcoal gray as he ages. Bright and vivid, fern-colored eyes are a stark contrast against his dark coat.

History

Batwing was born as Batkit alongside his siblings Spiderkit, Beetlekit and Mudkit into Forestclan. They had two older siblings, Twigpaw and Mothpaw, who were already apprentices at the time of their birth. Their parents were well-respected warriors within Forestclan: their father, Crowstorm, was a skilled hunter while their mother was talented in combat. The two warriors had fallen in love as young apprentices, and as soon as they had earned their warrior names, they had started their family.

As he grew, so did his siblings, and each of them found their own path and developed their own skills. As a young apprentice, his parents gave birth to his younger siblings Antkit, Pearlkit and Owlkit. Soon after, his older siblings received their warrior names as Twigwhisker and Mothflower. When Batpaw was of age, he had proved himself to be an agile hunter and for that he was given the warrior name of Batwing while his litter-mates were so called Spiderstrike, Beetletuft and Mudsong.

Batwing was well-known and liked among his clanmates, but was an ordinary cat just the same as any other. Though he made friends and was respected as a formidable opponent even in the other clans of the wood, it was easy for him to go unnoticed and forgotten in the shadows of his several other siblings both younger and older. As Batwing entered his second year of life, his younger siblings earned their warrior names as Antfang, Pearlfrost and Owlbelly. Later in the year, his newest sibling Sparrowkit was born, and became an apprentice as Batwing entered his third year of life.

On no particularly extraordinary morning, he woke to begin the day with a routine border patrol but was instead met with unfamiliar surroundings, landing himself within the foreign world of Canis Major.
