History

Kaji Hirota was his birth given name by the parents who abandoned him at a very young age; so young that he wouldn't have survived if it wasn't for a surprisingly accepting wolf and her mate. They adopted him as one of their own and he grew up with their litter which gave him wolf siblings. His new parents were the ones who gave him the name Ember because of his eyes and coat and it's the main name he answers to as well. His adoptive family were loners, most likely because of his presence, but that didn't seem to bother them all that much. However, because of that, he only learned about packs through what he was told and never truly had any hands-on experience.

Due to being abandoned it has made him a little paranoid about being left behind again or rejected. Although, being thrown away by his birthparents did give him the rare opportunity to be raised like a wolf and because of this he isn't as weary of them as he probably should be at times. He even displays some wolf-like mannerisms such as expressing submission, wagging his tail when happy, and other things.

One night, a horrendous storm passed through during their travels and as they were running to hopefully find a safe place to wait it out, Ember's footing gave out from under him which caused him to fall from a cliff into a river. His wolf parents raced to the edge to look for him, but the currents had already swept his body out of sight. They even had to fight the initial reflex to jump in after him. Instead, they tried to follow the river in his direction, but the storm made it extremely hard and they had to make the hard decision to find a nearby place to take shelter. The next morning, they searched and searched but found no sign of him. Ember was gone and they felt they lost him for good.
