Three weeks had passed by so swiftly since the birth of Shiroshika's newest litter, and Quicksilver once again welcomed the trials of fatherhood. He hovered often, ears alert to every cry or snuffle. The first month of a babe's life was the most fragile one, and despite the rapid rate at which they grew he still fretted over their wellbeing.

They thrived. Each daughter blossomed which every day, and his little son gained strength in all ways. In the still time, those quiet hours when Reiko stole away for a taste of freedom, the druid could not take his eyes of them.

He held them close that afternoon as his mate left to hunt, nose tucked snugly against Toruviel's pallid flank. His lashes fluttered, content to feel the rise and fall of his girl's tiny ribcage. Quicksilver sighed softly among the trio and reflected on how he and Reiko had named them in the same manner as they'd titled their first brood: a forename for him and a middle for her. Each as lovely as the last.

Quicksilver expected Filavandrel, Yaevinn or @Vienne to swing by the cave, as they often did - driven by curiosity surrounding their newest little siblings.

Life was simple for Isilmë; she had two loving parents, plenty of milk, and a warm bed to sleep in. She ate, slept, and recently, she'd started scooting around, opening up a new world. She took baby steps to adjust to the newfound freedom. 

Reiko was gone, and Quicksilver was here. She'd been sleeping when they switched off, so it took her a minute to realize what'd transpired when she woke. Her belly growled, and she looked up with sad, rounded eyes.

"I'm hungry!" was what she tried to communicate when she began to mewl.
