Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

Cilicia was almost a year old now. Exactly 6 months old to be exact. And her mother had decided that it was perfectly alright for Her and her siblings to Travel to the desert and back by themselves so long as it was to see their father. So she’d taken it upon herself to travel to Warcrest herself. She remembered the way mostly from the trip there and back when she was a little younger.

Cilicia’s legs were still not perfectly adjusted to the sand of the desert. Though they were a bit more adjusted than the last time she’d ventured into the sand.  Head held high she pushed onward. Deeper into the sandy dunes.

She kept a perfect pace as she walked, paws sinking every now and then while she fought to keep herself steady and upright. She wondered how long it had taken her father to adjust to this terrain.

She knew she was close as the familiar scent of Warcrest began to trickle in with the slight breeze. She was prepared to see her dad again. She wanted to spend time with him, bond with him as she had with her mother. So she picked up her pace, as she pushed herself into her falters territory.

She Stopped just inside the Eye. Taking in the area around her. She rolled her shoulders and lifted her head higher before she pushed towards her fathers den. She stopped at the opening of her dads home. His scent and that of his wife drifted out.

“Daddy?” She called at the entrance, not wanting to just walk in.
