Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

Her little sister was nearly a year apart — two children born from one mother, but she never was able to have a large family. With each birth there was one, resulting to two girls who looked vastly apart. Aries resembled their mother, a beauty long ago who had passed away from illness and assumed age.. Though no one really knew about their father, she vaguely knew somewhere long ago they were destined for royalty, and their father was a corrupted man. She had no true memories of him, but what she did know, that is where Wren took from.

Her sister and herself, were opposites. Small versus tall, silver versus brown.. Her shy little sister, that Aries thought dearly too. She roamed through the vale, a smile upon her face as her tail lightly wagged behind, searching for her famed family. She was all she had left in this time, and was oh-so thankful to the Gods for re-granting her this time. Her mother wanted her to protect Wren, and even without so, she would always protect her.. At least, she would try. They were fortunate, to find a peaceful land.

Though Aries wondered if her sister was doing well, she was not one that was well with strangers. A shy little rabbit, someone that brought the warmth of one's heart and the need of protection, "Wren?" the snow-kissed woman called out, "how have you been fairing in Duskguard?" Everyone was so kind.. But who knew if there was troubles behind it all.
