Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write, though the game also rewards high activity
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • Writing is collaborative, and so is our supportive community
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

He'd been in a similar situation before....with Hrafnsvaktin. A group that appeared one second and disappeared within the whisp of a cloud -- the archer never had fate that those lot could hold it together long enough to be honest, with the amount of negligence that went into being whole within the group. Even on his own part, but Kaster couldnt exactly say he got cozy enough with anyone from there to exactly cars.

The archer was aware of why the memory of such a train wreck was on the forefront of his mind, and that was the lingering question of whether or not Stormrift would meet the same fate. Whether it would crumble just as fast as it began building itself, and if he'd once again play part of the fool for believing things would be any different. He was kept up with this thought for quite a while now, to the point where it made him leave his den and head towards the boarders. Maybe some evening patrol would keep his mind off of it.

His steps and gait were high and purposful as he made it to the edge, with Phobe flying not too far to come landing on his back. Once the woodlander reached he wasted no time sniffing and passing on any rock or tree he could find before moving onto the next, all while eyes and ears kept a look out for any stray scents...

The scent of wolves riddled every inch of this land...

...which made it all the easier to ignore.

A cat did not fret over the likes of borders or laws; cats themselves had very few, for the matter, and therefore the day she wandered into what was clearly some gaggle of wolves trying to stake claim to the northern peaks. To this, she maneuvered none differently than if it wasn't in the makings of being claimed, scenting around with the intention of uncovering some sort of meal.

After all, wolves were plain creatures... always cached in the earth.

Hosea would not care to take note for the scent of a wolf nearby nor would she announce her presence to it.
