It drizzled and it poured.

Cold, wet, heavy, heaving rain.

It pelted the ground.

It littered the earth.

Staccato sound, and staccato noise.

He laid beneath the heavy, drooping, drizzling branches of an evergreen. His side against the dirt. His limbs outstretched and limp.

He stared out into nothing.

The man lowered himself to the ground, watching the elk herds as they moved across the opening. After a few moments, he would lung, aiming for a decent sized female, one that wasn't sickly but he didn't feel like going after a bull elk today. 

The kill was swift and easy, a take down that made him chuckle slightly. 

Picking up the body, he would begin to drag it into the tree line, eyes flickering around before landing on the wolf. He raised an eyebrow but said nothing, curious to see what the man was doing.

Its neck between its teeth.

Its head juxtaposed and limp with black, lifeless, open eyes.

He bared his teeth.

Continued to lay on the ground.

He watched the male closely, contemplating leaving him there and ignoring him. In reality, Rajani didn't typically get along with male wolves. However, he was feeling good today. And so, he would sigh, walking over and placing the carcass in front of the man before turning to start leaving.

It approached.

He rolled onto his stomach. Alert. His hackles stood on end.

Just for it to leave its kill.

He huffed.

Blinked.

Stared.

He watched it retreat. Black and white striped fur.

He left, not long after.

The carcass left untouched and whole.
