Somehow she got caught in hunting with the tiger. On the realization that the herd was avoiding the vale, they strut out of Duskguard territory and looked for the pathway that the caribou took. She imagined it looked quite strange, for a wolf to be seen with a tiger and to hunt together! Although any within the pack was used to it, observing often how Tiberius and Kuhn would together.

Her nose was to the snow, she could smell the faint trackings of them nearby. She was about right to assume they simply moved outside the vale, and most likely was either nearby or only distances away. She chuffed lightly to get @Kuhn 's attention to the fresh prints that laid in the ground.

"I figured they might have gone this way", the cat rumbled lowly as if their prey might already be able to hear them. His snout was held high, trying to pick up on the scents floating in the wind.

Side eying the woman, he could see that she found tracks, they where very fresh, so they prey had to be close now. Nodding, he had to give her credit, Aries was a good tracker.

Flicking his tail, the cat was getting exited, it wouldn't be long now until he could make the kill. The kicking, thrashing, the sound, the smell, it was all so close. He had done this before with a wolf, the hunting strategy was almost fullproof. What one hunter lacked the other one had.

Veering off into the tall ochre fall grass, his coat meshed perfectly with the dormant vegitation. Only half obscured, he kept his voice low, lowering his large frame. "I'll circle around... You know what to do."

Licking a cannine, his head pivoted away from the woman and onto the unseen target. Creeping away the large cat disappeared into the grass, only a small rustle as he moved out of sight.

Aries would nod and start to prowl ahead. Her one role was to separate one or two and send them hurling at Kuhn's direction. His size indicated that he could do it all alone, and she did not need to help ; but in truth she was a bit satisfied in that role. It felt wrong to leave him in the heavy work, but she wasn't sure whether she'd get in the way if she tried to help. The tundrian woman was conflicted in that way as she was enrouching on the herd ahead, she would do the first part well.. But the question would come later on what exactly would be her next step.

Her tail swung low as each paw crunched against the snow. A golden eye gazing at the edges of the herd — she looked to what may be the easiest compared to the hardest, and it well determined how the young remained in the middle, while the rest flocked in oldest to youngest. On the edge though, there was two in particular — maybe a doe and fawn, where she thought would be the best targets to lure.

With so, Aries sprung forth in a haste, the herd bleated as they see the wolf coming at them with an ill-intent. The chase was beginning, and made a quick turn upon her heels to block the same direction from the two she eyed.

Prowling forward through the tall grass, the cat slowly moved onward, only guided by the scent of prey. Truthfully, the success rate of this type of hunt would be low, at least if he was in it alone. For short distances Kuhn knew he he could run down mostly anything. The trouble was, the herd was in a field, so if he was spotted to early, his short burst of speed would not be sufficient to run down a meal. To make matters worse, smart prey would usually avoid the tall grass, keeping their distance from any potential surprise.

Whether she knew it or not Aries, was going to be pivotal here, filling in for his disadvantage.

About the same time as the grass began to thin, he could hear the heard cry out in distress, the wolf had started her hunt. With a few more quiet steps, the tiger remained crouched and ready. A tail danced with murderous intention as he waited. Once the woman got something close enough, he would spring the trap.

Aries toyed with the herds direction. She lunged in the midst of it all, the dangerous drumming of the footwork of the hooves thumped on the ground as she narrowed such spins to avoid them. They bleated and yelled, warning all around a wolf was in their midst and ran away, turning as they saw her and moving around and other directions — but she was only eyeing a pair.

As a mother and a fawn attempted to drive with the running caribou, she had blocked their path. A snip at their legs as the bleated and charged elsewhere, almost attempting to kick the wolfess who leaped away. Some were smart enough to figure out what a wolf was doing and would face head-on — but not this pair, who swerved on the blockage she gave and started their pathway from the entire flock. To the exact direction of the tiger.. There was a chance today to get not one, but two meals.

She snapped at their heels to keep them running ahead, but knew any moment that once realized they were corned ; the mother would start to fight Aries to protect it's fawn.

Crouched low, the thundering of the herd, was felt in the ground itself; the general shape of the ungulates darting in a single direction, acting in conformity at the threat of a single wolf. Details where vague in the grass, but that meant he was hidden too.

Coiling into himself, the cat wound himself tighter and tighter, waiting for the sound of hooves to enter the dry grasses, or for the wolf to cry out in distress.

Every fiber in him wanted to burst forward for the kill. But, patience was key, he wouldn't show their hand just yet.

Aries would continue the chase, carefully snipping at their heels as they ran, and not letting them twist or turn elsewhere. They tended to remain together, perhaps either by the childs reliance or the mothers protection, she was proud to be successfully guiding them toward the tiger. Closer, that they drew, every breath counted as her tongue rolled out with the chase, and a heavy breath in the air. She could feel her heart thumb, wildly like a drump as a snarl rippled from her chest to continue onto this guidance. She barked once more — an asking, a pleading ;

for the mother caribou finally faced to turn toward Aries, and charged at her.

Reliant on his ears, the crunch of grass under hooves was apparent, and a moment later a desperate bark ripped through the air.   Good to his word the big cat exploded from the grass lunging forward at the shape that he would recognize has prey.   There it was, the blissful yield of flesh under his claws.  Throwing his entire weight behind the assault, there was only a flash of orange and black until the creature was on the ground.  Dancing around the thrashing creature while controlling it with imbedded claws, the tiger avoided kicking hooves as he attempted to circle around to find the neck.

From the outside, one could see that the two large creatures where flattening out their own circle of grass as they fought.  With one good yank, the ungulate screeched as the big cat pulled it off center with tearing claws.  In the same motion he was able to smother the sound half way as he found his mark, clamping his fangs firmly to the underside of her jaw.

As the tiger charged out of his hiding place, there was relief as Aries was in a tricky situation to face off a caribou. The hooves kicked and the snow went into the air, a wrestle of tug of war between the adult ungulate and the adult feline ; where she had to back up, feeling if she even tried so, to be caught in the torrent of hooves and claws. Though in the distance the fawn was still there, running freely from all the turmoil's that was. At the very least, even one wolf would be able to take down such a foe.

So her heels spun, away from the two as she charged after the fawn. It skitted away and attempted, through the snow it went and bleated for help but the mother was long then trapped. She snarled, the clear obvious signs that the target was sighted and the pacing that Aries gave was slowly picking up. Fur gliding in the wind as she felt the ice grace her cheeks, and the adrenaline that filled her heart. Thumping like the drums of war, feeling an exhilaration of joy that swelled and the love of The Hunt. Pouncing forth as her claws grabbed onto the very backside of it, and a holler was given, but she did not let go, as the two bodies fell to the floor and she hung on with a might.

Little as it was, the fight was but just minor difficulties without any true stopping, hooves flailed wildly without thoughts, clumsy kicks the wolfess as she climbed up and — clamped, onto it's neck.

Kicking from the mother slowed, as the brain was starved of blood. The big cat held his vice like hold at the neck of the creature, just playing a waiting game, a small bead of blood dribbled from the corner of his lip.

It was the most humane way to do it. Within a few seconds the meal was asleep, and the kicking had reduced itself to a few unconscious kicks. As the tigers instinctual euphoria began to wear down, he always felt a rather pleasant calm from the comedown of the hunt. His eyes began to wander, still holding to his grip.

The whites of his eyes revealed them selves as he looked over his shoulder on the edge of his vision. There, he could see Aries working her own kill, it was a fawn, so this was a mother.

It wouldn't have been his first pick from the herd. Today, it would be a great meal. But, next season that could have been a young buck, and the season after that, truly a prize worthy of the hunt. But, he couldn't blame her, all they could do now was enjoy what they had earned.

His eyes returned to his own work in time to feel that ever so familiar death shudder in his jaws. The job was done and the once mother began its death throws.

The one disadvantage was that of a pale wolf, is that any other color was a stark difference to her snow-kissed pelt. As her jaws clenched and held to the fawn that finally fell, she released.. But her fur was a turmoil, where dirt stood upon the ends of her legs, and the blood that marked her jowls and neck. Little droplets here and there ; the sign of a clear hunt and nothing more. She was without injury, taking in a deep breath before looking at her prey..

And the mess that led Aries to an intense grooming. Tongue swathing over her chest and paws, the grim that tasted over her tongue and metallic tange.. Wasn't the most pleasant, but all she could do. A part of her missed the group groomings Winterglade did, the succession of a hunt that resulted in time to settle and prune their fur. He golden gaze would lift up in moments, looking at Kuhn with a smile of blood, "good job."

"Ya... You as well."   He returned letting the neck of the ungulate loose, watching it lifelessly flop to the ground.  It wasn't really a kill that he would say he was proud of, after all it was just a mother with its calf, an easy kill.  If he would have been the one to pick, it would have been more of a prize, perhaps the apparent leader of the herd; a bull with a deadly rack, packed with powerful musculature, and flesh to spare.

But, in the end it would still make a great meal, and Aries seemed happy.  So he figured he should be too.  Still, he had to admit, he would miss that specific sound of terror that would echo from the herd that had lost its Alpha.  The forlorn sound of regrouping herd now, was kind of sad.

Licking his chops, the cat wiped away the small bit of blood that he had actually spilled. Looking over the carcass of his own kill, his eyes scanned apparent deep red claw marks from the initial grapple.  Aside from that, it was a clean kill.  Looking over at the calf, the cat once again noticed the difference in how wolves would finish their prey, the throat of the calf torn and bloody rather than pierced and asphyxiated.

"So... I'm pretty hungry to be honest. Do you want to eat here, and take what is left back to the caves?", asked the tiger, trying to keep himself calm.  Already his hackles where rising, and his posture began to tense.  Still after all this time having someone else near his meal wasn't easy.  This was his first hunt with Aries, he knew how it probably looked, and hoped she wouldn't take it personally.  He would be fine once he got some food in him.

She wasn't sure why he looked like so ; like a beast attempting to convert it's prey, ready to strike at will so. A tension that made her pause for a second — at least she knew though he wouldn't, she didn't feel any hardship toward him, only a bit of confusion of why he was like that, "I'm not too hungry, so you go ahead. Even one of these is enough to feed for a few days." Aries saw no harm letting the tiger feast on his prize.

He even pointed out another time one of them is needed to feed his appetite, but the leg of it was enough to fill her for a day and possibly more. Her paw was ontop of her prey as she looked at it, a messiness of blood was seeping into the flower. Her tail brushed against the snow, and she looked to gaze at the direction the herd went, before looking back at Kuhn with a smile. For herself though, she was too exhillerated by the hunt alone that any appetite slipped away ; but she wasn't much of a eater regardless. While he was doing so.. She would groom herself.

Really, the cat hadn't been waiting for permission. Already, he was licking at the puncture wounds he left behind. Moving his way to the soft underbelly of the ungulate, the tiger's head latched in to the comparatively softer skin. "Mmm.. Uhmm... ", he agreed with a busy mouth, thrashing his head a bit to get the skin to tear.

After a good moment of this, the scent of the body cavity filed the air. Stabilizing himself by placing a paw up on the kill, he tugged opening the belly further.

As soon it was possible to fit his muzzle inside, the cat pulled out a string of innards, viciously chomping them into his maw, with a mild rumbling growl. Already he felt much better.

Looking up, his feline face was now soaked in gore. "Are you sure you don't want in on this? I'm not going to eat you too..." , he joked with a bloody smirk.

After all, she was part of his pack now.

Aries wouldn't call herself a clean-freak, but she still enjoyed the feeling of being fresh and clean, where her fur was untangled from it's rather plum figurine, and the stains were off her white pelt. A tundra wolf was one that attracted mud and dirt far more depending how pale they kept ; and she wasn't entirely white, but she was still heavily coated with both silvers and snow. Her tongue glided over her chest, slicking away the blood that roamed and though she faded it to the palest of pinks.. The woman thought she would surely need a bath to remove it all ; but it was unfortunate with winter, the waters were especially cold. She was hesitant, and thus groomed even harder.

For a moment she stopped, turning to smile at the tiger who once more wanted to play his game ; but she wouldn't fall for it this time, remembering how he by literally, chased her off in a fear, "i'm quite alright. Thank you though." When he was finished with the part he desired, she was ready to carry the remains back to the cache.
