It made sense, didn't it? To find some safety within a pack. Genghis and Olive seemed nice, the tiger cub... well, she felt a little bit like food when he looked at her but she thought that they wouldn't let him eat her. Wren knew she wasn't overly useful, especially whilst she was still healing with an obvious limp and scabbed over wounds. She hadn't a clue what she would bring to their Pack in terms of usefulness, nothing like her sister.

A sister she hadn't realised lived within the same secluded home.

Wren hadn't yet settled on a place to attempt to call her own little Den, sticking to the forest where it was most dense. She... wasn't quite ready to meet anyone and the likelihood they would stick around her was slim; no one wanted to be around a mute. They didn't know it was selective because otherwise, she had a terrible stutter.

She winced as she limped, sleeping on her healing ribs funny and causing them pain. Wren was out of her depth and she knew it. ^^

Duskguard was quietly growing. When Aries first arrived it had been a small pack, mainly ruled by the primarily family as the founders and a few that came with them ; unfortunately along the way one had lost her life. Now as time went so did the growth of the group — the same group that took her in when she had fallen from the sky itself. She was thankful toward them, for the snow-woman knew not where else she could go in this unknown land. In the end she probably would have found another pack, but was thankful that the Gods had led her here someway or another. She wasn't religious, but she did believe in the heavens and the fate that were bestowed upon her.

There was something magical to where she ended up though. Fauna that once couldn't talk now could, wolves who mention they too suddenly appeared.. Not many seemed to actually be born in this land — almost as if they were too fresh of an awakening. Who was the first? How long was that? And why, did they all come here?

Aries still remembered falling.

She roamed through the familiar vale, it had long become another home to her. The familarity of the snow and forests were well-due, and she did not wish to be anywhere else then a tundra. But something always felt incomplete ; for the fate of everyone else was always unknown.. But fate was funny like that, for in the distance there was something awfully familiar that it gave her a second-look over.

She froze.

She paused in her slow movements, one of her scabbed wounds getting itchier and itchier by the second. Wren's delicate features scowled as she tried to angle her head down so she might use her teeth to nibble at the skin around one of the scabbed wounds, trying to elevate the way it itched so fiercely. Wren visibly grimaced as she realised just what she would be so close to nibbling on, her nose wrinkling and she cleared her throat, feeling slightly sick to her belly.

Wren gave a delicate sigh as she tilted her head to the sky, glancing up as she wondered: what was she doing?

The petite yearling came to limp closer to a tree, settling down awkwardly with a wince on her features. She would need to find a way to be useful, she couldn't face the thought of being rejected because she was... useless. Wren leaned back into the bark, shoulder ruffled from the way she slumped.

Once upon a time, there was a beauty who married the King. A romantic tale so they say, where fairytales would warp everything to but a rose-colored lenses, but in the backdrop the Kingdom was within a shambles. Where eventually those who lived within uprised, taking down the society of monarchy, alongside the King. He who tried to bear a son but was unfruitful, for each litter he tried was but a single pup — a female. Yet who knew if he had mistress's, but that Kingdom was long into flames, and the beauty ; fled into the night.

Finding herself within anothers doorsteps, she partook their culture and alongside the daughters. A warm lil girl, like a sparrow of the mountains, and a silver wonder, who was like a summer hare. Fate wasn't kind to the two though, for soon the woman who seen a kingdom fall, had perished to the spell of illness and age. But her daughters survived — together, until they weren't.

Falling and falling.. Separated into unknown times, where was supposed to be a happy engagement was not one anymore — the elder sister was alone and wishing her sister was here. Maybe the Gods looked at her fondly, for such a wish was to be granted. Aries could fear her eyes wallow within tears, droplets falling as she would see the same girl she so wished upon a star that she was safe.

Maybe she should pray to the heavens more often.

"Wren?"

Wren?

She looked up out of habit, as anyone did when their name was called. It occurred to her then that... well, no one here would know her name for she hadn't spoken it. She had been mute upon her meeting with @Genghis and her admission to the Pack, her name was... gone, a mystery to those in Duskguard. So how --

Her buttermilk depths landed upon a face she had thought she would never seen again. One she had thought had perished when she was dealing with what she supposed was survivors guilt. Delicate in her silvers and whites, Aries stood there, across the way, ethereal in a way that Wren could never be. Especially not when she was slumped against a tree! Wren's throat grew clogged up as she lurched forward on instant, the desire to be near her older sister strong. She grimaced, wincing as she bulked, her healing ribs not a fan of the way she threw herself forward.

Wren's tail came to cup beneath her belly, tail tip going crazy as she whined, trying to slowly but excitedly limp her way towards Aries. Shock still sat in her chest, coiling in and out as it battled with the excitement and the utter relief that she felt upon seeing her. What was this world, to reunite the sisters who should have died?

Were the Gods cruel, or benevolent? She couldn't tell — to take them away from the only home they truly knew, and to dump them on a new plains altogether. She may have escaped a loveless life, but who was to say it would truly be that? Aries thought she could learn to love — for the sacrifice and comfort of the safety of their eternal stay and generations forth, especially to her dearest sister. A paw within the court and so, she would align herself to a closer relationship to Winterglade.. But alas the world decided to plunge them all into an abyss, and Aries woke up alone.

Wren woke up alone elsewhere.

Cruel to tear them away from their home, but benevolent to bring them together once more. The only had each other, and only so. Friends were but bonds that Aries never felt was true ; a strange barrier that tied herself away from others, and she thought she was pleasant to be around, but could not form those bonds in Winterglade. She tried to change that, in Duskguard.

Maybe the Gods were benevolent.

Her sister limped but Aries ran to, an embracing of as she felt the warm of her bright fur. Fawn colored, the familiar butter-milk of her gaze was everything that was her — the way she stood out in the tundra, the soft exterior that screamed of a protection.. The memory of her mother telling to protect Wren, to be the elder sister she needed to be. There was only tears, and crying, as she held her sister closely, tongue lapping over in comfort kisses to ensure it was all real.

Wren didn't need to try and rush forward, despite trying, for Aries came upon her with rushed ease. Body met body and Wren ignored the way her ribs sung with pain, focusing instead on the feel and the smell of her sister. Here, with her now, licking away at her as Wren tried to bury herself against Aries' winter-touched frame.

Whines and whimpers escaped her as she cried, butter-milk gaze vivid with tears and ears splayed back as she tried to lick back at Aries. Safety seemed to fall around here then and the feeling of being alone evaporated with her touch. Her tail went crazy beneath her belly as she crouched, seeking the way she felt warm and loved within her sisters embrace.

The girl would wince when the pain of her rib became too much but she wouldn't falter, remaining crouched and pressed against Aries as if she were fearful that if she let go, if she stepped back, that Aries would vanish from her.

Within the way she moved and twitched, winced as so ; even the most amateur eye could see she was injured. The words of her mother saying to protect Wren was always echoing upon her deathbead, but it was hard to do when she could no longer see her sister. Tossed into the world like a salad, in truth the tundrian wolf had no hope to see her ever again — the thought of a coincidence to come was all too likely in this unfamiliar word, where fate had brought her here for some odd reasoning, some odd new-start. She missed Wren dearly, but hope had long since disappeared..

But here she was, to disapprove all that. An igniting of hope and wonder to caress her sister, but Aries couldn't help but ask, "how are you here?"

She made a soft sound in the back of her throat as she buried herself into her sisters embrace. She couldn't believe that she was here, in person with her -- the world had ripped them apart only to reunite them. Couldn't they have arrived here together, just as they had fallen the same? Instead she had fallen alone, rib to stone and blood to the surface, Wren had felt the pain of the fall and the loss of her family all at once.

Upon Aries' question, Wren whimpered lowly as she felt the tears well up and fall, soddening her snow-kissed fur as she shook her head. She was loathe to speak, to answer her but her sister knew her, knew her terrible stutter so it was of no cause of embarrassment, really, even though she still felt the humiliation. If it were anyone else, Wren would remain silent. She would inhale as she leaned back, wincing at the pain in her ribs as she peered up to Aries, eyes wide and vulnerable. "I-I-I-I-I-I D-do-don't-don't k-k-k-kno-kno-know-w-w," Wren whimpered, snapping her mouth shut as she felt the way her voice wobbled with nerves of her stutter.

Feeling the light touch of embarrassment, Wren ducked her head back down to tuck it against Aries' chest.

Although she tried, holding herself firm and a comforting guide to her younger sister — Aries could not hold the waterworks that fell firm. Glory yellow's dripping so, feeling the gentleness of the water drift from her chin and onto her sisters chest, who at the same time own tears dripped into her own fur. A scene of crying dove's, into each others embrace and a speaking of an familiar tongue to none in the vale but their own. How a missing of not only her sister but the tongue they were raised to know and beloved — the snow-hare wanted to melt to the other, and affirmation through licks and comfort, that she was real.

"I have missed you so," she said, to the colors of warmth that gave this snow-world a brightness, to the way her sister stuttered ; it reminded her of home, of family that finally embraced again, "the Gods have surely brought this to us," Aries said with an affirmation, the true belief that held firm. She was not entirely religious, not one like Olive or others — she believed, but rarely did she pray. Yet how could she not thank the heavens in this moment for the two to be reunited, and alongside within the same pack?

"It is safe here," an assurance, she was safe. They were safe. Even though, vaguely so her eyes looked to see she was injured.. But here, harm would not come anymore.

can fade here if you'd like! <3

She whined lowly in the back of her throat at her sisters admission, her heart pulling and aching yet also exploding with warmth and excitement. She hadn't thought she would be faced with the elegant features of her sister again; assuming her dead and living with survivors guilt. To have her here, truly, embracing her and showering her with affection... it was almost too much. Almost enough to make her legs give away entirely yet for the moment, they merely shook. Seeing the silvers and whites that decorated her sisters body reminded her of home so, the little bird being the anomaly of the bunch as she took after their paternal genes. Genes that were not so dominant in the family, the wolves of the arctic coloured so.

Aries spoke of it's safety and she bulked just a little, buttermilk gaze wide as she kept her ears tucked against her head. She tilted her head slightly, a question on her delicate features as she nodded hesitantly. She wasn't seeking to disbelieve her, truly, but she was... hesitant by nature, skittish as a bunny. In the end, though, she would follow Aries to the ends of the earth. If she spoke of Duskguard being safe, then she would accept it. Wren nodded, leaning forward to lick at Aries' chin as she ignored the way her ribs thrummed painfully.
