Wolves of Empyrean were dominating wolves ; they were a neutral party who was self-reliant on what made them stronger, and protective of not only their family, and claim. It was apparent that they would not be too pleased by any who would settle nearby, and as Ara was doing her rounds, her nose had caught the whiff of some wolves.. At first she thought it was but a band, and then she noticed there was a remaining tribe of sorts within these forests.

Too close, to her liking, perhaps even too close for @Hydra to like. However the daredevil yet to report this, instead she prowled down from the mountains herself to investigate these fellows. They were claiming far too close to Empyrean. She had a strong, steady movement, her head high within a dominating pride as she moved toward, seeking to find out what their intentions are within this forest.

The dark king of night had found himself proper rest in the base of an old tree. Sheltered from both the chill of early morning and the the sun that accompanied it. His obsidian coat made himself barely noticeable, except for the subtle and cool breathing that rose his chest and belly. Curled into a comfortable ball.

His ear flicked, turning and trying to direct itself towards the source of a subtle sound. A sort of pitter patter that caught his interest. He thankfully had already slept a few hours and though, disturbed, Erebus rose with curious intent. Perhaps something he could hunt, or a stranger.
As he did put paw to the earth and his body lift, the scent of unfamiliarity entered his nostrils. They flared and took them in. A stranger, indeed.

Erebus looked around, poked and eased through the trees until he caught the flicker of moving fur. A feminine figure, though their scent carried nothing of the like. Undeveloped perhaps, so the man eased his natural sense of flirting with fair colored creatures.
"Hello miss." His voice like molten honey, deceptively so. While excited at the possible prospect that this could be a loner, a vagabond, one he could scoop up and rescue- he disliked the idea of being woken up. The man's eyes scaled up and down her body, seeking flaws in an otherwise pleasant pelt. He was not interested in any little ugly low-bred pests slinking around this late in the morning.
He was pleased to see some form of purity.

"Is there anything I could help you with?" It was an honest gesture, for she seemed to have a mission or some kind of goal in mind. Yet it had ulterior motive, for he questioned if her nose was working. Erebus having made quick work of pissing on nearly every tree, and all.

A man approached, her stood tall in height that towered her own and a good portion of her family. She would almost think he was if not for the silver that cloaked his pack, and instead of a yellow-gaze was that of a fiery orange. He reeked of narcissism, the way his voice dripped in a sweet toxicity and the politeness he took, almost as if she was walking into his home. There was a look around, for only man she could tell, even his pelt lacked a distinct smell of a pack. She was suspicious of the wolves nearby, and the wolf that presented himself such as that.

"Who are you and why are you here?" Ara said bluntly, her head lifting high with an air of supremacy, matching any other as she directly copied the Matriarch of Empyrean. She would find out why they roamed too close to her home.

He remained unfazed by her show of strength, in fact he only found it slightly charming. Head cocking slightly to the side with a smile. The man subtly crept a little closer with a smile.
"Erebus Tenebris, second-born son of the Tenebris clan and their heir." Gathering the feeling she would prefer honesty, he avoided telling a lie. Besides, he quite enjoyed saying his current title. Even though it could be pleasantly improved with "King", "Chieftain" or perhaps even just "Leader".

Couldn't she tell what why he was here? What a curious thing to ask.
"Well, to live here of course. It's a fine wood." He shrugged, he couldn't understand why it would even matter. "Why? Care to join me?" The man smirked, a flirtatious look in his glowing orange eye.

She frowned at his proclaimed stance and name of so, "you are too close to Empyrean," Ara said, stepping closer. Almost as if a challenge of so ; but even she wasn't foolish enough to raise such stakes and fight someone most likely more experienced then her in combat and was even larger. Her tail lifted high though, a paw away from howling in defense as she was so-close to almost thinking to call for reinforcements if situation went south, but first awaited more and more.

"how many are you?" did Ara ask, as she examined the situation to await and report back to her parents.

"Is that what you call yourselves?" He tossed his head in a dismissive fashion. "I can smell where your borders end. Doesn't seem too close to me." The man looked down at her with a deceptively kind smile, one that lied behind the eyes. He hated the challenge, or the insinuation that they wanted to push him off of a rightful and lawful claim. Yet he wouldn't squander or squash the chance for alliance, if it was indeed possible.

His orange eyes narrowed. "What gives you the idea that I would tell you? You've not given me much reason to trust you, girl." This was honest, at the very least. He didn't trust her, especially not with all the attitude she seemed privy on dishing out. Erebus hoped she would curb her sass a bit, for both their sakes.

Ara was a relatively stand-off ish wolf, cold to those who were neither Empyrean or family. She often saw those who even wandered outside of Empyrean was hostile, so she narrowed her eyes on this man who spoke of an ugly honey-sweet words and an arrogance that she felt he had no standing upon. A stain upon his back, eyes that were the golden she was so used to — a mocking of what she thought was the pure-line of beautiful coat. Mocking so internally, for she was greatly displeased to be called girl, and only showed through the narrowing of her eyes.

But she was not getting anymore information, that was clear. Her fur stood lightly at him, an aggression seemingly to follow by the short-temper of a devilish girl through her childhood ; but Ara calmed herself, slowly, and surely. She looked him up and down, without another upon his pelt — she knew his claim was meaningless. However, she still without another word, would turn around and leave.. Just to report to what she had found.

Her humphing and pouting was kind of... cute? He smiled, more genuinely this time, to have brought her such frustration. She was prettier when she was angry.
Surprise did light up his face though, as she failed to respond and merely turned. Walking away, let alone turning her back on him, was a curious reaction that he wasn't expecting. He took a sly orange eye and returned the favor of looking up-and-down her backside.

"Hate to see you go, love to watch you leave- angry girl!" He called after her in a teasing fashion as she grew further from him. Hoping that one last jab might prolong her stay, now that he was having fun.
