The morning came, and the vale hung with a heavy fog. She emerged from her den, slinking out in the dust of the day ; her nose twitching, for the smell of rabbit was fresh on the trail. One had wandered quite close to her den, and although was not a bit of distance, it's path was forged by the snow. A morning of perfect hunt, Aries thought as she slouched to the ground and prowled forward with a sly smile. A way to start the day, she thought more, as her stomach rumbled lightly..

Carefully tracing to that snow-white rabbit.

Some time after the pups had figured out that he had become a member of 'the pack'.  The cat found himself up in a tree, trying to just get some rest, now avoiding sleeping at ground level.  Slumped over a branch his mind was drifting in and out of sleep, thinking about Valmua and where she might be.

The silent moments where painful now tortured with thoughts of what could have been done different and hopes that it would all sort itself out.  It didn't help that he essentially did what she thought he might do, and in her mind he probably 'ran away with the northern pack'.

Luckily there was something that caught his eye and distracted him from his worries, if only for a moment.  Some movement down in the brush below got his attention, after a moment he could see that it was Aries, low and crouched.  She was stalking something.   At least it would distract him for a moment.

She had yet to notice the large man, oranges between it all. Although it was said tigers, though bright in colors, were excellent in blending to the trees due to those shades and stripes. She was wholly focused onto the hunt, where her body was low and each step beneath the snow hailed forth.. She could see the prey in the distance, as it nibbled on stray grass that was around. Her tail lightly wisped in a wag, of minor excitement that caused a mistake! With such noise as it her tail rustled against a bush, the rabbit looked at her and ran!

"Ah!" so said Aries, as she rose from her hiding spot and ran straight toward so. She used to be such a good hunter, but her luck these past few days were horrendous!

Watching the hunt, the cat had never had much luck with small game.  His paws and frame where to large to be suited to the finely tuned twists and turns of rabbit hare.  It also seemed like even if wolves failed at the initial ambush, they had the uncanny ability to just run the prey until exhaustion.

Even though his appetite felt poor at the moment watching the woman hunt, made him want to do the same.  Killing something might feel good right now, even if it mostly went to ... the cache.

Slumping himself of the balance of his branch, the cat came crashing down though a smaller branch, still sticking the landing with a heavy feline grace.   Landing in front of the path of the rabbit, the small animal flung itself upward into the air, for the moment stopping its retreat from the woman.

If she was quick she could grab it right out of the air.

Even when she was startled when the larger tiger appeared, directly blocking the rabbits path. The poor thing almost seemed to die on the spot, for it jumped in the air and darted directly back ; more afraid of the beast then any wolf. Although to her luck, at least this time she would successfully catch the prey within midst of it's running. A grabbing of it's neck as a toss in the air, and she giving an audible snap upon it's neck.

A flawless kill.

"Thank you, Kuhn," Aries said, tipping her head lightly in a gratitude, whether he did it on purpose or not.. Actually, how long was he there for?

The audible snap of the small creatures neck was music to the cat's ears, a flawless kill and a hunt well done. Looking upon the form of the slender woman, the small bits of red blood where such a sharp contrast to the white of her fur and the surrounding landscape.  It was a brief moment of solace from the aching that was eating at him.

"You would do the same...", he shrugged.  Thoughts of Valmua and his new pack status immediately started to flood in to the cats senses.  Watching his posture slowly sink would reveal that he had a lot on his mind.  Now part of a pack it was supposed to be his duty to help in moments like these.  That thought irritated him.  No longer was he helping because he wanted to, now he had to.  The incident with @Valmúa wasn't to far behind, ready to slam into his mind right after.   There 'fight'  had only been a day ago, but the thoughts that it could all be over twisted in his gut.

Part of the tiger knew that he was mostly beating himself up, and that a lot of his negative assumptions where probably just a result of being hungry or thirsty, or something.  Though on the surface it didn't feel like that, everything just felt so dull.

"It was a good grab", he added with a sigh, and a weak smile.

"Rabbits lately been tricky for me, I am not sure if I would be of help." Aries admitted with a light chuckle as she jabbed at herself. As she looked at the hare she caught, it was a relatively medium-prize, neither too fat, nor' too skinny. It's fur yet was completely white, she could note patches of otherwise ; for before it had been caught by the two predators, it was most likely shedding for the upcoming winter. Perhaps that would mean they would find more plump one's, or otherwise could use their fur for a better use.. She hummed lightly in the thought of skinning it.

"Do you normally hunt rabbits? I imagine with your size you could hunt caribou on your own." She admired his prowess, for it'd be mighty helpful if she could hunt alone.

Just the act of getting down out of the tree made the cat feel exhausted. Normally the effort wouldn't be worth much, but today, with all the weight he felt on his shoulders: it was enough to want to make him return to sleep.

"No, they definitely aren't something I'll go out of my way for. I'll catch them if I can, but I'm not the best at these things either." , he replied honestly, shrugging his shoulders.

A weak little smirk actually escaped the sullen cat, "You kinda have to kill a caribou alone if you are going to eat one alone...", he joked, poking fun at his massive appitte and solitary nature.

Talking about a caribou hunt gave the cat a little light. Maybe gorging himself with caribou innards was just what he needed.

Even such a large beast had his struggles of hunting. Although she had to chuckle upon his comment, for that was true ; the bigger one is, the more they would have to eat! And she imagined with his size, he would need to at least eat one day. Although as predators, hunting was something of a difficulty, there was times they did not need to eat every day or indulge such luxuries, but as someone part of a group, this was more adapted to do. She was always a had a relatively healthy weight — but even she knew this was a luxury not most had.

"I noticed there is a caribou herd that has settled in the vale." Aries said, as her nose lifted lightly to smell some remnants of their trail. At the moment the majority seemed to be absent, and she could help but look at Kuhn and wonder if they left because such a tiger was too close to their liking, "do you know their other places?"

Standing up a bit straighter the thought of an impending hunt helped cover a lot of that gnawing feeling in the back of his mind. Ears cupped to the white woman and his tail danced a bit more now. "A few herds cycle around the tundra. This might be the same one that would pass through... the old place I used to stay..."

A brow narrowed at the woman as the cat caught glance of her sniffing at the air. He could smell it too but they had moved on to the more open pastures. "It seems they move to the open when they are threatened..." , he suggested. He knew of his own scent and would usually do his best to keep it concealed; prey that was afraid would always be watching.

Though it would seem that, as he spent more time in the veil, the obviousness of his presence began to build. Maybe he was responsible for putting the herd on edge.

"Either way, I bet they are avoiding the trees and the tall grass now.", asserted the cat, sounding a bit disappointed. The open plains where more the hunting domain of the wolf.

"They must be intimidated by your might," Aries said with a minor chuckle to her tone, "though perhaps there can be a day where we can gather the pack and hunt together. A few, then but one." She said with a hopeful matter ; for he had a point, he needed a whole prey to himself, but what if they had brought the pack for a hunt? They could be supplemented for weaks, and with the snow slowing down the decay ; they would have plenty to eat for quite a while.

"I believe they'll return, as the old generation falls and the new comes. There are many, many predators around.. They surely cannot stay in one place for long."

"That's not exactly a good thing...", Kuhn replied with a scrunched expression. It was well and good that the caribou thought he was a good hunter, but his stomach would soon say otherwise.

With all the talk about hunting it was beginning to be more clear that he was indeed hungry, his previous depression masking that desire.

"You are talking like, we are going to have to wait a season.", he continued, a bit irritated by his hunger.

"You know... If you are willing to try something, I bet we could have something by nightfall."

All she would have to do was chase something from the flatlands into the tall grass. Then he could handle the rest. It was a technique that he had used before with @Tiberius and @Valmúa. But, now that he was part of the pack, he figured he should get used to the help. It was funny how well it normally worked, for species that where supposed to hate each other, their hunting styles where oddly compatible.

"We can find them again." Aries saw it but a minor issue, for his might was worth any caribou herd within the vale. They might stray from the forests, but it did not mean they were outside and roaming ; for all they knew the herd was simply next door, laying peacefully by a stream. She had a suspicion they would be back, but with such a beast roaming within the forests.. It was a mystery. She wasn't too worried with how abundant food was all around.

"I do not have much confidence that I could help hunt one," she said with strained smile, not wishing to burden him. She could barely catch this rabbit after all ; Aries couldn't imagine she would really be any use toward his hunt.

Baring his teeth a bit at the woman's lack of confidence.  She seemed to shoot down the idea before he even said it.   Together they could track them and he could take one down provided that she could chase something to him.  Maybe it was his hunger that made him lash his tail in frustration, or just the excitement for the hunt that he obviously wanted to have.

"Don't say that about yourself.   Look... all you have to do is chase something into the tall grass or the trees, ill handle the rest." , he retorted rather sternly taking a step closer.  "If you get charged, just run away ill come help you.", he promised softening his voice.  With just two they could do this, it would be easy and they could both eat until they where entirely full, and there would probably be food left for tomorrow as well.

Hopefully she would agree, this would make hunting so much easier.

Aries would admit that he is.. Quite scary, especially the way bore his teeth in displeasure. She would smile calmly, despite the thumping within her heart and the natural feeling of desire to run away. He was proven to be a rather mischievous feline, quite enjoying messing with others as shown by their own meeting ; as he by literally, had chased her off. Though proven he meant no harm, for if he truly wanted to.. Everyone in the vale would be hurt, if not dead. He has shown Tiberius and Olive trust him deeply, and as the hare trusted those two, she continued to give the benefit of the doubt.

There was always good, even if they seemed rather scary.

"Alright," she said, "then shall we search outside the vale?"
