Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

Tagging all of Shiroshika for visibility. @Hotaru, @Antares, @Haruki, @Gyrfalcon, @Quicksilver, @River, @Alexei, @Ruelle, @Cirilla, @Filavandrel, @Vienne, @Yaevinn, @Sachiko, @Delgata, @Kin

The last few weeks had gone by quickly. Quicksilver had gone to check out Tsukiishi and ensure its safety along with @Thraximundar to make sure it was sake for her husband's arrival. Both of which, had come back with no news to share about the tiger and his companion lurking near by. Word was sent to the bear of their move back to the snowy peaks they had originally met at, and as well as @Rajani as promised to let him know they were moving. Kazane had her work cut out for her as she flew out to find the bear and the tiger to share the news.

During this time the news was shared to members individually and encouraged to continue sharing the news that they would be returning to Tsukiishi soon now that it was safe to do so. They had made their message clear to the ones who caused them so much woe, as well as new allies to help should they return, and so, there was no need to continue to hide and feed off of Vanderfell's kindness.

Whatever was within the caches of the Pass was brought to Vanderfell as a gift of gratitude, as well as sharing with @Ira the news of their departure. The move would take weeks to fulfill, to slowly bring members back to Tsukiishi as well as taking any personal belongings with them - but it would be worth it to settle back into their old dens. Safer than they ever were before.

With Sachiko and Quicksilver aiding in moving the children, each took a child and began their journey home. Taking with them a few members ready immediately to help set up Tsukiishi for their arrival while the others who needed more time would follow as they prepared for what would hopefully be their final move.

He wore a brave face as Shiroshika's wolves threw themselves into preparation for their return to Tsukiishi. Despite it having been his own idea to reclaim the silver towers, Quicksilver could not deny that he'd grown rather comfortable living in Vanderfell's shadow. Having his friends close by had certainly helped his transition into leadership and he'd been thankful for their support and guidance as he learned to navigate the new roles of leader and parent that he'd stepped into.

They would not be too far, but he would miss them.

As Reiko collected a cub between her jaws and Sachiko another, the druid lifted his crown to take one last longing look up at the proud summit that'd once served as his home. He knew he would always be welcome there, that part of his heart would remain within Hiero and Ira and their offspring he'd helped rear. Quicksilver was excited to take Reiko home to the land she'd intended to forever belong to Shiroshika, yet he ached all the same. It was an occasion both joyous and solemn; bittersweet.

Looking down at @Yaevinn who awaited his attention, the silverwhite smiled sadly down at his pallid son. His tail gave a soft sway between his hocks and he reached to pepper a fond kiss between the boy's platinum ears. He shifted to pick him up then made his courageous stride forward in pursuit of his mate and the Countess, blue-grey eyes fixed on their tails as he quickened his stride to catch up to them. He would guard from the rear, watching over his family whenever they needed to feed the pups or rest for a time, and frequently would steal a longing glance toward the steadfast mountains they'd left behind.
