Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

So she brought her first recruit home, well this was an unexpected thing to come from her. When she start gathering others, she did not even do this in her own realm! What you her friends think, to bad there wasnt any alcohol here to celebrate. Well, with her tail held high she moved past the invisible border that was her new home.

Maybe she should stop patting herself on the back, it's not like she had the final say on if he got to stay but he sure was a decent guy even with his little tail bob. "Welcome to Duskguard, guess I'll call up the leader." She smiled, before tilting her head to the heavens and calling for someone who would accept their newest member.

He remarked inwardly about the beauty of this land. The Tundra would easily become a favorite place, considering his lighter coloration. It'd be easy to be swept up in the snow and hide. Though he really didn't have an idea why he would unless a fight started... Or if he was playing hide and seek. For a man of his age... probably not a good idea to present himself as such.

"Thank ye."

His reply was curt because he was nervous. It held no clip toward @Soledad anyway. He'd use his words for explaining himself. It was too soon to believe the woman would vouch for him, even if she recruited him. Torben stood on the other side of the border despite her walking over it. He remained standing, stubby tail fur blowing in the breeze. But he felt no chill.

Olive was somewhat surprised with the activity buzzing around Duskguard lately, and not from her own brood of now five. It was hard to explain, so the Priestess mostly chalked it up to the turn of the season, from late summer to fall. There was always a certain buzz that came alongside the shedding of such excess; the brisk feeling, a chill on the wind. In the far north, it was not as obvious as the forests of the south. Still, it was there, in the sudden charge that electrified everything. It was a feeling, more than anything.

Summoned to the border, Olive did her best to respond as she could; but it was not as simple an act as it once was. The children were entirely mobile and made mad use of their legs. It was difficult to keep them contained, and suddenly the mother found that her children were simultaneously everywhere and nowhere at once. Suddenly they needed a watchful eye, at all times. Olive was grateful to have such help in the way of Aries, who looked so like her in pelage, especially in the absence of her shadowed chieftain.

The children fairly minded, the Priestess absconded towards the border.

A brief assay of the situation showed her a man and a woman, the former who smelled wild and the latter who smelled of the Vale.
"Hello," the sylph drifted forward. "I am Olive, Priestess of Duskguard." Her gamine frame was firmly pivoted towards the male, as the one who was a newcomer entirely.
