"You get one chance, one opportunity..."
Cold, dark, a rush of numbing silence filtered through a mind that lay barely conscious as a gentle current pushed a lithe body through her wading waters. It was peaceful, and calming even as the mild rocking soothed any worries that may have disturbed the slumbering consciousness. Limbs float heavily as the cold of the water numbed the nerves, canceling any aches that may have occurred. It was a peaceful stagnation, one that left the imagination blank and undisturbed, leaving little for discussion upon waking.
Sleep became fleeting as the body was pushed haphazardly upon the land, leaving limbs to feel the biting cold of air hitting wet fur. Hidden orbs reluctantly open to reveal dazed green before lids blink repeatedly to interrupt the sleep clouding his mind. A groan of annoyance and slight pain from his tingling limbs left Kair to lay upon the damp ground for a few more minutes as he worked up the motivation to sit up. With curiosity, the beast observed his environment, wonder danced behind his eyes at the new land that greeted him. Slowly and with great effort from his uncooperative legs, Kair sat himself up only with a couple of stumbles and a handful of cruses. His head sat on a swivel as he digested where exactly he was.
The conclusion was that he had no idea, nor was there remembrance of how exactly he ended up here or in the water for that matter. With the grace of a newborn deer did he stand on four paws, the chill causing a slight shiver to course through his body as his legs wobbled unsteadily with the strain. Yet, Kair steps forward with the idea of figuring out exactly where he is and maybe how he got there.
His steps became more sure and decreased in their tripping the longer he walked, bringing back the blood flow and feeling back to his nerves. Fur still lay damp over his skin, leaving him still chilled and uncomfortable but it was bearable for the most part. Kair glanced around realizing the longer he stared the more of the land he still didn’t recognize and it left him slightly panicked. Until he remembered that he disliked the fellow wolves that were left behind and that, for some reason, made this change a lot easier. “They were boring anyway,” he whispered to himself, almost a little scared to break the quiet air around him.
So, he pushed forward with slow but deliberate steps in search of the next adventure he wished to partake in; rather that be within the land or with a companion.
