Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

It had been sometime since her son passed away, and the discovery of why. It was a bitter feeling, she had never physically lost them, but mentally, many were lost. The gray son who scorned her, the suspicious distance of the unholy daughter, and even the incarnates of her cousins, were all too.. Distant, to her liking. What should've been utter loyalty only differed to few, the favorites and the rest of indifference. She did not think to put focus on the sons and daughter that was born recently — for she already saw them born in a bastardly path.

But they did not deserve death..

It can be noted, she saw her kin take care of them where she lacked. Knowing negligence but they thrived and moved — perhaps shedding that of the unholy like, but ah, she had forgotten, one was in-fact not. But he was stricken to stay in charge of them, and she wondered how well he did so.

Celnes sought for the den, seeing how they are ; to lose a brother.. She knew that feeling well. Mourning what was her close relationship, the Queen missed Cenric dearly, even though nearly two years have passed, she still thinks of him lovingly — although as days past his image had disappeared, and she could not even remember what he looked like.

She marched forward, oberserving who was around for today.

Selwyn's failure to do as their mother bade (to this day he knew her as mother but... Teodora was somewhat mother, too. He didn't entirely understand how to differentiate as of yet) had stuck with him in the days after Seaver's funeral. Realistically the boy had no way of saving Seaver yet it weighed him down, tightened his lips and steeled his resolve.

The protection of Faust and Weirs would be heightened. He would need to learn how to fight like adults did, the young Knight had decided and wondered if any of his older siblings might teach him. The young Knight was walking, trying to do his best in scouting out their lands for one so young and inexperienced, when he saw Celnes.

He straightened, chin lifting and paws pausing. "Queen Mother," the young boy greeted, hoping she wouldn't bring up his failure. ^^

"My dear son," Celnes approached with a warm smile as her tongue slide across his head, "how are you fairing?" For surely losing a sibling was not something to easily get over. Although their own situation was.. Unique, where she too knew of what her own wrongs were, and yet.. Didn't make too many strides to redo that regret, feeling uncomfortable over so. To treat them as she did with the same litter, a polite distance and yet warmth, as any mother would — but they have always, gotten royal lessons. What else was there to be done?

But she feared lightly of their mental state. Remembering closely how she lost her own brother.. She looked at him with a slight worry.

He knew her but he didn't. Yet he favoured the swipe of her tongue across his crown, something warm in his veins. Selwyn tried not to question too much, willing to be complacent in this reality. "I am fine," Selwyn supplied quietly, licking across his nose as he wondered if he should tell her of the way he had failed.

She knew he had, though, given one of her children were dead. Some protector he was.

"Are you?" He returned the question, almost guardedly, blinking up at her. She had lost a son, after all. She was Queen, she had already too much on her plate and she had looked to him for help, brandishing him with the mission to protect.

Selwyn swallowed. ^^

She tried to move Selwyn, as big as he was growing, he was still small enough where she could comfortably push him underneath her sitting chest. A backwards hug as a cradle of so, not something she does often with her 2nd young ; perhaps realizing she should more. Maral made a quite a point, her ignoring was a bit too obvious. She thought enough was showered where they'd be loyal, but the way Faust looked at her recently.. It felt a mimicry of her own gaze beneath the waters.

"I am heavy with his departure."
