They could see, they could move, they could speak — and if they haven't yet, @Olive and @Tiberius could present them with meet. Euphemia grew around her siblings, all a female huddle among them all. Blessed in monochromes, they weren't any other — one that was as black as their daddy, and one that looked of a perfect mixture ; surprisingly so she was blended as a replica of them as well. Twinsets, and the morningstar that almost was of near Olive-color, but splattered, an almost muddy look that was fooling anyones eye, but instead was her true coat.

She liked grooming her siblings, much like how their parents did. She liked smelling the herbs and flowers some would bring, and loved anything that seemed colorful. She liked staring outside the den, and seeing the world bathe in beauty — just as it was now, a sunlight disappearing into the night.

The owl was out for his daily patrol over the mountain, eyes piercing down. Below, the scents of the pack-wolves wafted towards him, and he swooped downwards to get a closer look. Perhaps he'd get to talk to @Aries again.. that'd be nice. But, once his gaze laid upon the figure, he realised it was but a pup.

“Pup!” Ookpik called, landing on a ledge close enough to hear the child. “Hello, am Ookpik.” His social skills – when it came to wolves, anyway – weren't the best, but hey! He was trying! “Ookpik friends with Aries, you know her?” Well, the pup probably did, it would to make sense, but the owl wanted to be certain.

Keeping an eye out, Ookpik glanced around for the bigger wolves, especially the black-one that looked big and tough... Owls like him could probably eat a pup in a few bits, and honestly, that disgusted Ookpik, but he could understand the fear that the puppies parents may feel if they saw their helpless child near a raptor like him.

Euphemia blinked, looking back to her siblings for a moment, who slept soundly, before looking at the bird. Although had seen vaguely within corpses and the feathers, the child does not know a time to see one up close — flying high in the sky on occasion and otherwise dead before her, this was a new experience, as her eyes twinkled with the light amazement. She wanted to touch them, feel the wings and know how the fluff on their neck was, and awed with an open mouth, even vocally, "waah," in that same dazzlement.

They spoke, much like her parents, much like the other wolf. She didn't know it was adnormal, but the mindset was slowly coming through that everything could speak. And they spoke of the lady! "awies," Euphemia repeated, nodding lightly attempting their name as well, "oowie" newfound speech made it quite hard to speak, as it was fresh in the mind and perhaps only a day or so prior that they could form such talk.

She pointed a paw at her self, "euphfweeemaa," although, at least she was quite close to say 'Euphemia."

Dalmatia slumbered, curled up close to @Tiberii and with her chin propped comfortably atop @Aurelia's flank. She was quiet, content to dream of her mother's milk and her father's soothing, rumbling tone. Her little toes and nose twitched, tail giving happy little wiggles - until something unfamiliar drew her swiftly from sleep.

Her stormy eyes shot open and she looked around her, suddenly fearful. She blinked, gaze locating the area of the den where the world was lightest, and saw the pale form of a blurry, yellow-eyed creature.

At once, she began to cry for the safety of her parents - loudly.

Ookpik blinked slowly as the pup attempted to string out Aries name. "Awies," she said, and the owl felt himself chirp in an awe-ing tone. "euphfweeemaa," The girl said, and Ookpik "smiled". “Euphemia,” He tested the name. It felt.. odd against his tongue.

He was distracted with the pup, inching his way closer, until another started crying. Uh-oh. The raptor hobbled over to the other pup, instinctually spreading a single wing.
“Shh- uh, shhhh, shush..” Ookpik didn't know how to comfort children, but he hoped the child wouldn't attract it's parents. “Hush, pup, quiet..!” He sent a look of desperation to Euphemia, though he knew she'd be no help..

With a sigh, Ookpik called for @Aries, hoping she'd arrive to the scene before the parents of the children did.

How strange.

A tall, pale, round-but-stretched form cloaked in the strangest-looking fur she had ever seen loomed close by, uttering speech that Aurelia had normally known to come from her parents. As Euphemia was learning, so, too, did her twin discover that all things could speak.

Fascinated, she inched closer.

“Ooo-pih?” she repeated eagerly. Aurelia frowned, scrunching her nose up, dissatisfied. She tried again. “Ooook-pih!”

Her little tail thumped several times, proud of herself for coming so close to the word, when Dalmatia startled her - yet again - with a violent cry.

“Dalmaya!” she yipped, stumbling closer to her spotted sister. She wanted to tell her it was okay, that the peculiar round-but-stretched creature before them was in fact a vessel of knowledge and teaching, but little could be heard over the sound of Dalmatia's terrified wail.

Aurelia, helpless, did the only thing she knew how to.

She collapsed onto her sister in an attempt at becoming a makeshift weighted blanket.

Ookpik is not fit to be a parent 3_person_facepalm1

So, a kid was screaming, another was asleep, Euphemia and another who was cutely – and terribly – trying to pronounce his name said something along the lines of "Dalmaya!" Before catapulting onto her crying sister.

The bird let out a sigh, squeezing his eyes shut for a moment before looking back at the babies. He should've gotten Aries sooner, but what could he do now? He didn't know where to find the kids parents! Shouldn't they be watching their kids? Ookpik huffed; This was not his responsibility... But.. then again..

Puppies were so cute! And the owl found himself fascinated by them, so he supposed he'd stay. “No, puppy, not on Dalmaya, or your name Dalmaya? Ookpik don't know..!” The life of a parent was hard work, he knew that, but he didn't expect that everything could turn to chaos in a few seconds!

“Shhh, calm down, puppy,” He murmured soothingly, gently petting his wing over the crying one. “It okay, Ookpik not scary, ok? Epuhemia,” Ookpike turned his gaze back to the one who'd spoken first. “Tell screaming puppy Ookpik is not scary?”

Euphemia blinked once and chaos reigns, there was her spotted sister screeching to the high heavens ; had she thought the pretty bird was scary? Their den laid with various feathers and pelts, some that were the same of Ookpik's, and the owl had been so kind that she didn't understand why the sudden screaming. Her other sister, almost protectively looking, shoved herself ontop of the sister.

"is ok," Euphemia approached them, and rubbed her check against Aurelia even if she wasn't scared, and nuzzling Dalmatia as well, "shhhh," copying that of any guardians to coo' the crying babe, "ish ok, ooowee ish nwice," through her slurs' of so, the young sister wanted to comfort and assure that the bird was nothing but another, something that was interesting and caring, much like the tall woman who checked up on them, and the kindness of their parents.

Nothing could hurt them, and she felt safe within this den, and wanted them to feel that too.

^^

It wasn't that he was growing used to the sound of a particular child's cry but he had heard it enough to differentiate it between her sisters. Dalmatia was one of the main causes of Tiberius' high blood pressure and the worry that sickened his belly. He was viciously protective over all his girls but there was something about Dalmatia's softer, more delicate emotions that made him froth at the mouth at any inclination towards danger. Not that the Vale had any danger, no foe had ever step foot over their threshold and they would die if they tried but the way Dalmatia cried always led Tiberius to believe life or death.

He should know better by now.

Yet his heart still lurched and his belly grew queasy as he made his way in a hurried run towards the sound of his child's cry, not at all prepared for the scene he would arrive on. His nose hadn't caught the scent of another predator but he knew not all the time did it matter, things like mud able to be used to mask a scent if someone really wanted to. In a way, he supposed a predator was here. It was just... a feathery kind who really made for an odd scene. He had stopped suddenly, his brain trying to understand the scene.

An owl. An owl was... stroking? Comforting? Dalmatia as she cried, using... using wolf-tongue? (First a Stag, now an Owl. Tiberius should know to expect the unexpected.) Euphemia was there too, attempting to comfort her sister with her growing but still baby-like vocabulary. He blinked, it was such a weird fucking scene, man. Tiberius sighed, seeing that the bird was oddly comforting his child and not trying to eat her. Whatever, he would press on. "Alrigh'," he rumbled, "bird, gonna ask yer ta move away from m'girls, okay, I need ta stop 'er cryin'," he moved, coming to his children and in the assumption the bird did as he asked, he would crouch down to draw his nose along Dalmatia's head, "sh, sh, luv, daddy's 'ere."

He would use one large paw to tug her towards him, casting his molten gaze from the bird to Euphemia. "Yer alrigh', luv? Yer... makin' friends wit' this bird?" Because why wouldn't they? Of course they would. (He was friends with a tiger but that was different, thanks.) He looked to the bird then, assessing. ^^

I was skipped. From now on, please allow everyone an opportunity to respond with their character before replying.

She stared, eyes wide with terror, her little body trembling. Dalmatia could hear the creature speak but made no sense of its words. She simply saw an unfamiliar animal that was larger than her, and with huge eyes that stared her way. As her focus was fixed entirely on the bright white bird before her she was not aware that her shriek had attracted Aurelia's until her sterling sister was clambering atop her.

Not surprisingly, little Dalmatia started to cry. She wept loudly, hot tears spilling down her speckled cheeks, and Euphemia too had approached to try and provide comfort. The owl, too, tried to provide assurance, but as it moved closer and outstretched a large wing to reach for the cubs, Dalmatia began to wail louder.

She was trapped, but not for long. Her father moved in to intervene and, still weeping, the mewling babe managed to wiggle free of her sister's hold and hurry herself closer to her protector.

here to further confuse the posting order!

Whenever Olive wasn't within the nursery with her own children, one thing could be certain — she wasn't ever that far away. A second thing was also, always certain: if the puppies were alone, it's because they were sleeping. Any other moment, an adult was with them. It wasn't unlike a mother to want to slip out for a moment's stretch while her brood slept, and so Olive had done just that. Exactly when and why the puppies has awoken, was unknown to her.

All she remembered was the tiny little screams, coming from the way of the den.

Olive came barreling back, a heaving, panting mess. The scene she came upon did nothing to quell her nerves, though she did have to check twice to ensure the bird apprehended was not @Lounatuuli; and somewhat to her surprise, it was another bird entirely! Thankfully Tiberius had arrived but a second before, and was already working to calm the situation. With her mouth agape, the mother strode forward and hooked an arm around one of the two twins, pulling her in close to her her body. She glanced at her husband, then towards the bird, then to Tiberius once more.

As the situation worsened, the great owl seemed to be doing everything in his power to make things more complicated. He extended a single, endless wing, spanning entire football fields to their tiny eyes, curving down to try and pat the howling child upon her speckled head to absolutely no avail. Somehow, Dalmatia grew ever louder, reaching a high-pitched crescendo until at last Father and Mother intervened.

Aurelia let out a soft 'oof' as she was whisked away by Mama's firm arm, scooped into a lump betwixt her white paws as she stared out in wonderment at the scene.

She looked up at Olive, green eyes questioning. “Ooook-pih?” she asked, darting her eyes back to the owl and her weeping sibling. “... Dalmaya okay?”

Her stomach made a rumbling noise.

“Mama,” she said suddenly, “I'm hunn-gree.”

Thankfully, the parents arrived on the scene, quickly taking care of the children. He gave the large man a quick, curt nod, gaze lingering back to Euphemia for a moment, before he took a few steps back. Trying to hurry on his tiny owl-talons, the bird would spread his large wings, taking off and gearing back towards the mountains.

 Now, wasn't that chaotic?

Exit Ookpik!

"Daddy! Bird nice!" Euphemia barked in a light frown as she wasn't pleased her newfound friend of the light-dame was now being pushed away. Her paw stomped the ground childishly, displeased as she watched the pretty owl disappear into the backdrop, flying away.. She was to chase, to be honest, she wanted to, be was pulled back to the sounds of Aurelia comforting Dalmatia, and she too would sigh, and head toward the sister.

"Sissy.. Birdy nice, okay? Safe."
