She ventured from her red forest, knowing that she could not sit around and hope for potential comrades to find her. It was possible, of course, but it was not in Tavra's nature to wait. After spending several days trying to secure her borders, the russet Mayfair's next mission was to locate others who might support her claim alongside her. She needed wolves, the right kind of wolves, and there had to be plenty out there who yearned for a haven like the one she wished to provide.

The scent of sea salt hung heavy in the warm Summer air, and she trailed her way along the coast. Tavra had found several loners on her trips to the edge of the world, and she wondered if perhaps the vast waters and sandy beaches was what attracted them. For her personally, it was the squawking of seabirds that drew her in, for they were usually easy pickings if one was in need of a quick bite to eat.

Much to her disappointment, the crimson Mayfair did not see a single creature for hours - not even a gull. Still she carried on, too stubborn to abandon her mission.

Perhaps it was time to move on from the temperate, but she had yet to explore a bit more to the east. Mostly stuck by the coast of so as familiarity brought her down ; but her wayfaring heart was slowly urging to move on. She hoped though, for those that Miriam met, she would meet them again. Part of her heart seemed to be torn by bits and pieces and given to individuals that she longs to call for companionship — and maybe this was why loners formed that of packs. However, she knew, if she were to settle.. The maiden would regret not seeing the world.

As she hummed in thought, and came to the river that divided the temperate and the mountains. Before her she could see the standing empires, floating high and behind her was the lower-lands of various forests, and smaller heights. But.. In the distance, a fiery figure stood there, steps and markings that were all too familiar. Across they were, unable to pounce by the rushing currents below. That would mean a death, or washed away to the sea..

But Miriam was so sure, "Tavra?"

"Tavra," came the call of a siren, and she acknowledged it with a fluid sweep of a tall ear. The dragoness paused mid-stride to better regard the source, copper eyes searching for a face that she had not been so swift to forget. Her heart skipped an uncomfortable beat as she focused, and her fox-like tail began to sweep her hocks in recognition.

Ah, her moon-wolf. The one that got away.

Tavra Mayfair smiled, perhaps a little sheepishly, and thought fondly of their frolic through the grove. She had tried and failed to win Miriam's affection that evening, and ultimately the two had parted ways. She'd considered how their reunion might play in fleeting moments while she roamed, but never had she imagined there would be such an obstacle between them.

She lifted her chin, “come to eclipse me at last, sun-chaser?”

"Destiny has brought us forth, just as the moon and sun every so often, stand-still high in the sky to meet once again, and then nevermore." Miriam would think it might be the last time she would meet the dragonborn, and yet her heart wished otherwise and asked that of the Goddess to observe them so, and give the red tie to bind them in a meeting of fates. But just as the sun and moon rise and fall, they co-meet to that same eclipse every blue moon, just as she wondered, if that was their own relationship. To meet like that of the eclipse grazing the sky.

However.. Miriam cocked her head curiously. She remembered they met and ran through the fields of the temperate, yet before her, Tavra stood across where the mountains stood. A great river, stand between them, as the birds hover and caw above them and watch such a fated meeting. The maiden couldn't help but ask, "what brings you to the mountains?"

Her words were like music, and Tavra was drawn to the poetic drawl of Miriam's tone. She didn't believe in "destiny", not one bit - especially after the trauma that'd come for her following her dispersal from Little Haven - but in that moment she rather fancied Miriam's suggestion of it. She'd bend to it, the dragoness supposed, if it appeased the sun-chaser in some small way. The russet Mayfair's smile broadened and she grinned toothily; there was nothing she could think of to say to the beauty in response.

Nevermore? She refused to accept that.

“Territory,” she answered the question that followed smoothly, and air of confidence about her. “I found a forest to call my own.” She shifted somewhat, gaze cast to the waters that stretched between them; she wished to go to her moonbeam, to seek the connection she'd found in her when last they'd met. She twitched a whisker, not at all appreciating the distance forced between them. She could swim, she supposed, but Tavra didn't trust the current. So instead of pondering over how to find a way across the water body that separated them, she lifted her eyes and boldly suggested: “you should join me.”

Miriam wasn't surprised if she found her own claim, the fiery woman was someone who would make indents on life and those around — it surely did on her own, and she did seem like someone who would, or should settle on a role that was lesser then something else. Great fire has a lot to give, and her passion and words that have been expressed only indicate who she was as a wolf itself.. Someone that Miriam suspects would hear great things from another's mouth in another time.

She was so bold to invite another, Miriam couldn't help but smile, feel just a bit welcomed and special to be invited so openly, "the call to the wild is strong," however.. Her time to lay down and claim to another's land was not within destiny's grasp. The wind breezed lightly past them, the smell of pine and brine on the wind, the slight music and whispers that it gave, almost as if it was agreeing to her. It wasn't time.

"What is the name of your newly claimed place?"

The rejection was somewhat expected, yet it burned her regardless. Tavra blinked, the warmth draining slowly from her expression despite Miriam's gentle let-down. It made sense and she understood; they barely knew a thing about one another! She trailed her tongue over her upper lip, trying to navigate and make sense of the new feeling that sparked within her.

Miriam was young, still. Tavra was, too. The call of the wild had drawn her from her parents' maplewood and out into the vast unknown as a fresh yearling, and she'd enjoyed her independence. It was power she wished for now following a great length of time where others had abused or disappointed her. She knew she'd stop at nothing to achieve it.

Her ears twitched, then tilted back. "Well fuck you then," would've undoubtedly been Tavra's expected response, but she did not think her foul mouth acceptable in the presence of pure, tender Miriam. A question followed her refusal and the wildfire briefly considered how she might react should she deliberately withheld that information - keep her guessing, maybe wanting for more. “I don't know what I'll call it yet,” she settled for, as it was true: "the red forest" had no name, none that she'd gathered since she'd chosen to make it her own. “It borders the sea, and its trees bear scarlet leaves.”

A place of red, "I'll be sure to visit," curiously of not only the land but what Tavra would then create. Within red she shines and red that she was, what was more suiting then so? But something that was only in red and by the sea.. Perhaps her time in the temperate was growing shorter and shorter, and would soon venture close to the mountains that give an array of beauty.

A name she knew, and a name that lightly drifted to the mind of Miriam. Language of one, but knowledge of many, she whispered lightly of, "saoirse," and repeated more lightly, "saoirse means 'Freedom' in another language, I feel it suits you highly." Brilliant as a fire that couldn't be contained, shinning more brightly then any and freedom like no other ; she was the definition, of freedom in the making.

Perhaps too shining for Miriam who more and more felt a strange, but warm attraction to this woman met in the grove.

She wasn't happy with the way this encounter was going, nor was she willing to accept the way Miriam had shrugged off her offering of joining her in the bleeding forest. Tavra felt the rise and fall of conflict within her: how she tried to convince herself the dismissal was nothing personal, yet wanted to be selfish and keep such a beauty all to herself. The russet Mayfair watched her sun-chaser intently, curiously, and felt her attraction to her intensify when the offering of a title came forth.

“Saoirse,” she tested it out loud, and appreciated the way it flowed. Yes, she mused, immediately knowing that the name would certainly play a role - but the woodland would require its own. She would need to give it some greater thought.

She returned to the comment made earlier, one that the dragoness had tried to ignore but could not. “Will you?” Tavra asked, a curious cant to her slim muzzle as she lowered herself into a seated position and curled her fox tail about her paws, “Visit, I mean. Or are you just saying that to keep me from pressing?”

Nodding with a warm smile, "of course," Miriam said in assurance, "destiny binds us so, it would not be right to turn it away." A kindship to the other, the maiden was all the more loving with the idea to visit the fire in her own land of fires. She would not miss such an oppurtunity to enrich her own life with the knowledge of another pack and the relationships that would follow, feeling that the Goddess had brought her to this land for a reason.. And Miriam should listen to the magic that was binding them together.
