Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

Maybe @Aries ? :D

He had worked hard to familiarize himself with the vale. Much of it still remained unfamiliar to him. Yet the walls of the vale assured him that he would never roam too far from the vale, finding himself neatly tucked into the safety of the forest.

Although the sun had not found itself high enough to cast light into the place he now called home. The land was still cascaded in shadows, but the stirring of birds in the trees and those smaller faunas who bedded down assured him he had not awoken at nightfall. It was beneath one of the many trees where flocks roosted that he found a collection of things.

Feathers.

Carefully, he collected a few of them. Some soft and downy, others aged either from the bird or the weather. He imagined they would make a wonderful collection for somebody. Perhaps the babes of @Tiberius — or even himself! He did cherish the idea of sprucing his own place up with the large feathers...

+1 Hoarder I think!

The sun was rising, and Aries stirred from her slumber. The sound of birds within the distance caused her ears to flicker, a curoisity for if anything was disrupting that of the quiet morning ; although in truth wasn't anything heinous, just the wariness of the usual avians. She emerged from her hide-away, a den found underneath a tree and a rock. Roots grew over it, like a lair of protection ; and she thought of making it her permanent den for the meanwhile, but was still in the thoughts of whether to, or not. But, it was her slumbering nest, which she emerged from.

Curiosity set in, as her nose flickered from the light footsteps within the snow of another. Someone nearby? Light in step she was approaching, she saw a tall man within the distance. He was black, much like Tiberius but failed with any other lights — tall and thin and yellow, much like her own. He seemed to be doing something..

Collecting?

Aries approached, a chuff to announce her presence and not scare the member of Duskguard she yet to meet, for the smell upon his pelt was unmistakable, "hello," she greeted with a smile, golden eyes grazing down to the flocks of feathers that were on the floor, "are you collecting feathers?"

A feather was clutched between his teeth. White with few black spotting, that he had felt particularly charmed by.

But there was a chuff behind him, the sound of someone arriving. Carefully he tucked the feather into the ruffles of the fur along his shoulder. It would not hold long, but it would stay hopefully long enough for him to carry it back to a private place. The rest remained spread and scattered at his paws as he fixed his eyes on her features. She was stunning! He felt flushed in the face all at once.

“Oh, yes.” He breathed nervously in response. “I thought...they might make nice decor for a den. Spread about carefully for display or attached to something, someone. Like...this!” A show of his shoulder where the feather had been tucked.

He was decorated, feathers adjorning his pelt and around his paws did they stand — all over where the leftover flocking of the feathers, and she wondered if a fight had broken out between the birds! But the sky remained clear, and she did not see any owl or otherwise species that represented to there, and was smiling idly at his form of looks, "They look nice on you," Aries complimented with an honesty, always finding feather decoration to be a rather pretty charm that wolves can hold.

What a practical way to carry them though, the idea was tucked away within her own thoughts.

"I am Aries, I don't believe we have formally met."
