Sama (silver mama) was back. Though she was injured, and often in prayers and just.. Usual religious stuff. Violet wasn't too sure how to feel about it ; it was a bit annoying to learn if she had to be honest, but listened to any to please. Sometimes it was interesting, though, she would admit, just enough that she knew about it.

But she was glad she was back. Not that she'd admit it.. So she was hovering around the den, glaring at her siblings when the obvious forceful exit of them failed.

Violet had truly carved a niche for herself as quite possibly the sauciest pup of her siblings, and it vexed her mother to no end trying to deal with her varied and seemingly endless tantrums over the smallest inconveniences. Suspiciously, she and the others seemed to hold the greatest distaste for @Alder over the rest of their littermates; perhaps Amaranth's continued aversion toward the unfortunate red pup had something to do with it.

She tried, of course. The golden woman could at least endure being in the same space as the crimson child, but should his fur at any point brush against her own, she would shift away almost imperceptibly to avoid further contact. He would run at her, attempt to play, but she would simply turn her head and pretend not to notice.

@Narcissa was the quiet, agreeable one, and often took little more than one 'absolutely not, ma'am' to cease whatever mischief she had gotten up to and meekly return to playing with her siblings. Her fur was developing into the most elegant shade of gold, taking very much after Amaranth in her shimmering hues, and her airy personality seemed to follow suit - Valeska often wondered if they might be able to read each other's thoughts.

@Sreda was a terror. There was nothing to say about her that would not be immediately be followed by a grimace, not that there was anything... wrong... with her; it was just that there wasn't really anything quite right, either, in the proper sense of the word, and she seemed to have a penchant for tormenting her siblings with rather nasty games.
She also had a spooky habit of watching everyone else in the dark while they slept.

Then there was @Dimitri. Her sweet boy, her silver, worried little child, eyes wide as they absorbed whatever they could from the world around him, and likely the only one of her children to actually listen to her various lectures concerning the Five. He spent most of his time trying to keep his siblings out of trouble, and often got the short end of the stick since Violet found out it was easy to pin most of her crimes on her faithful brother. Dimitri rarely complained about it, no doubt feeling it his responsibility, and took the brunt of Valeska's scoldings when she would wake with two long rabbit leg-bones shoved up each nostril.

Their family dynamic was evolving, and there was little she could do to stop it.

“Violet, моя самая дорогая любовь she breathed, exhaustion coloring her tone. “Do not be so cross that you must share space. Your siblings also live here, you know.”

Dimitri could not share the same disdain for Alder and Sreda that the others did. He could not truly even hate Violet, even as he's has thoughts about how much better it would be if she were gone. No, at the end of the day, they are all his family. Perhaps this is just a phase Violet is going through. Perhaps Sreda will turn out better. Perhaps one day, Mother will look to Alder and not hate him. Certainly, both Mother and Mama would see that. And perhaps his siblings would learn to leave him in peace. Knowing now the concept of the Five, he knows they listen.

The sight of Mama before him is proof of that.

He is too young to fully understand doubt in faith. His Mama told him the Five exist, and his little brain has decided that it must be so. Each small ritual, each prayer said, each small movement-- it has led to belief being validated. He reorganizes his pile of rocks, looking up at Mama with pride. "Houtu brought you back," he says softly. "I prayed every day. She brought you back." He stares up at her with so much love in his eyes that it almost hurts his heart.

She turned to the silver mother,  deciding to lean into her as a form of comfort. She was here.. Injured, but she was here alongside the golden mother once more. A family, some would call it, but Violet felt more possessive that it would be better if it was just them three, and no one else. Even that brown child was an annoyance when he came in and out ; he wasn't born by her mothers, and surely wasn't from the same litter.. Just, a speck of dirt.

"They're all ugly," Violet huffed, before looking at the oh-so diligent Dimitri who promised he prayed, "and he's crazy!" would the young berry snap and snort. She saw through his behavior, she wouldn't forget his yelling and crazy eyes.. He was bonkers! He wouldn't fool Violet, no sir', and one of these days she'd make everyone see it.

He was just too good at playing.. Good.

Narcissa was an agreeable child. Whatever mischief her siblings found themselves causing within their den, she was happy to go along with it so long as they were happy -- but she was also easily subdued by any words from mama or mother. She would bow her head with a solemn expression for all but a moment before a smile would work its way upon her golden features and she would express her love for them. They were, perhaps, one of the first words she had learned to say aside from the titles of her parents.

All in all, the girl was not often phased. Her patience was endless, her heart big and her glittering eyes seemed to be filled with depths of the unknown. Narcissa's smile would sit easily on her features though it seemed almost airy, dreamy, as if she knew things that others didn't.

Perhaps she did.

Violet was the one most obvious in her passions. The opposite of the gold-coated Narcissa, loud and opinionated in a way that others might think abrasive and mean. Narcissa thought it simply Violet.

Dimitri was softer than Violet, perhaps a little slow but in truth, Narcissa was quite soft on him. Violet would be quick to defend herself or perhaps start something. Their brother quite the opposite, she thought.

"Mama," the girls soft titter came in greeting, high with the sound of her youth but not sharp, airy and almost as if she breathed the word. Narcissa stood demurely off to the side, that knowing smile on her youthful features as she passed a glance between Violet and Dimitri. Narcissa knew she was not ugly, no matter what Violet claimed. Her loving parents cast compliments to all their youth but to know she had taken after @Amaranth in looks would tell Cissa all she needed to know.

Her beauty was no lie and she was blessed to have it.

Making a soft hum of approval, she leaned down to nuzzle Dimitri affectionately, admiring his assortment of pebbles he had so diligently arranged. He must have been picking up on a few of Amaranth's spiritual readings; it fascinated her how children were so quick to learn.

Her heart swelled with pride as he spoke of his days spent in prayer to the gods, how he had sought Houtu's guidance even without the gentle steering of Valeska's influence. She loved his earnest nature, his focused spirituality and how he would listen with such wide, shimmering eyes as she told him stories of the Beginning, how the Five had created wolfkind in their image to shape the earth around them.

“My sunlight,” she cooed, “There is nothing that could keep me from you or your siblings.”

Violet, obviously feeling put out, leaned into her mother hard, sporting a childish pout written all across her face. Valeska suspected she didn't have a spiritual bone in her body - that is, unless she ever found herself benefitting from prayer, which seemed unlikely since all of her requests would undoubtedly lean toward the accumulation of more stuff for herself. She shook her head, endeared nevertheless.

“Violet, I have told you before, ugliness comes from within,” she said pointedly, hoping the lesson would stick. “And none of that! Your brother is not crazy; you shall not speak of him so. It is important to learn to share and take joy in each other's company, even if you may not find it agreeable.”

The silver wolf cast a pleading look toward the heavens, wondering if the Five would aid her now; but only the sound of rustling grasses from outside answered her.

“To cause needless strife should be beneath us. Peace and harmony are paramount to living well-”

A soft, clear voice echoed from nearby, uttering only one word: 'Mama'.

Beautiful Narcissa. Elegance encapsulated, a perfect mirror reflecting Amaranth's grace and poise, her voice a soft bell that never rang too sharp. Even her heavy-lidded gaze seemed reminiscent of her golden parent, surveying the world around her as if she were a dreamer drifting through some grand illusion.

“Cissa, my lovely. It is so good to see you - I feel as if everyone has grown, though I was gone for so short a time!” she said with a smile, admiring her brood with the glowing pride that only a mother could express. “Have you and your siblings been keeping up with your prayers and sought for guidance as Dimitri has?”

Valeska maintained her smile with practiced effort, feeling she already knew the answer deep within her heart.

A more cruel pup might have suggested that Violet was truly ugly and horrible. But Dimitri can't bring himself to say a word to Violet. Her words are harsh, but that is because she is ignorant. She does not know the love of the Five. He will have to try harder to show it to her. He will lead by example. So he smiles bright at his mother and ignores Violet for now. His earlier outburst not forgotten, he decides he will be better.

His light will convert the shadows around him.

"But he suuuuucksss, more then Alder!" At least the fire-born tended to keep to himself! The silver mother may try and toy that ugliness that emerged from her heart, but being born with such cruelty was but a futile effort to the displeasure she felt between many within Elysium, "not even prayers can save him." She snorted with a mocking of a laughter, that although Violet wasn't religious — she would use it to hurt him how she saw fit!

Majority of the focus was to insult and bring down her brother.. Narcissa wasn't an issue within Violet's eyes, someone that was easier to manage and less of annoyance. Didn't talk back to Violet or be a suck-up like the other, she seemed like someone who minded her own business.. Although was there a few instances helped the little devil? Maybe a bit.

She was tolerable, maybe even liked just a bit.
