Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write, though the game also rewards high activity
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • Writing is collaborative, and so is our supportive community
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

She left the flower fields and continued on her path. The forest had been brief, though a forest for sure. It was large enough to hold a predacious few, and prey if she could find herself any energy.
This was not her case. No, all of her energy was being pooled into the assignment of getting as far away from Warcrest as possible. She would stop when Sabira felt she had found respite. True respite.

Perhaps loyal subjects under her command would also bring her such ease. Though this was an idea meant to be put to practice well into the future. Finding a home was all the woman much cared about.

This land was a long stretch of grass and rock. She could practically feel the small prey wiggling under her toes.
Perhaps a snack wouldn't be too bad and worth the trouble.

Her nose sniffed wildly as she hopped randomly from stone to stone, searching for little things in between them.

Since meeting some freak foxes, Orlaith was a vendetta against them. She despises foxes, and would do anything to drive them far, far away from anywhere she touched. Even on the borders there was the faintest scent of one simply being around, not in Vanderfell, but lightly grazed by the territory. She completely dropped whatever was doing and went on the hunt for it.

Nose to the grindstone, leading her to the rippling heights but alas! The scent disappeared. A scowl upon her face as she arrived and there was nothing but herself, the flat-lands and a.. What seemed to be a white wolf, but that wasn't completely correct. Off-brand to say the least, not like the ones within Shiroshika. More of a peachy overtone, a bit cream to say the least that reminded her of..

Well, honestly it didn't remind her of anyone.

They were hopping though, kinda stupid-looking she thought, while watching.

The woman caught a scent upon the breeze, a fair wind that rushed down from the mountains and through the forests to meet her here. Sabira raised her head, knowing the origins to not be of pika or field rabbit. Her hazel and amber gaze scanned the fields and with one quick swipe, found the creature that made them. Easier to spot in the day's light, their fur catching the sun in a bit of a glow.

Sabira scoffed.
They were staring, which the budding queen to not take kindly to. She stopped her movement from rock to rock and merely stood, staring back. A distasteful look on her face.
"What? " The woman asked, her tone clearly annoyed. Though she was willing to hear this one out, even if it frustrated her to do so. If they had a good reason for staring like that, perhaps Sabira would forgive them.

They scoffed and looked annoyed, and Orlaith couldn't help roll her eyes, "You must be the life of every party," she said with a sarcasm. Already determining them as the prissy type, for though she could see a refinement from them ; in her eyes, that wasn't a good thing. She disliked delicate wolves who held an attitude, but disliked anyone with an attitude. Never got around of any friendliness one way or another, and she already deducted the warrior would not get along with this wolf.

Green eyes looked around, almost expecting someone to jump out and also start attacking her. Characters like that always ha some sort of guard, but upon the wind, for the meanwhile, was none beside the two. Even the scent of longer stood tall, and mused lightly at such a wolf being utterly, alone.
