Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

This is actually way more north, by the lake to the left of the eye. there's no territory made there but, I just wanted to get this thread out there and out of the way.
Tagging for relevance, @Satan

Her own heartbeat drummed aches into her head, the heat and pain both acting in tandem to bring her as much misery as possible. She had pulled herself this far, having begun to simply stare at the sand as she walked. Until the scent of water tickled her nose, causing her weary head to lift and gaze around.

Was it an illusion? A trick of the eye and mind? Surely, Sabira spied a lake not too far away. She would run if her wounds, freshly open, didn't bring sharp pain to her every movement.
After administering a fine punishment for her attitude, the large white wolf had left her beaten and bloodied in the sand and heat. Perhaps to die, she wasn't sure. The woman was becoming surer with every step that he had badly bruised, or maybe even sprained, her front right wrist. Though she had to get away, she knew she had to escape. If these injuries did not kill her, staying there any longer surely would.

Besides, those fools never provided her anything useful. They spat at her questions and snarled at her suggestions. In return she gave them all fiery glares and snarls to anyone who came within a few feet of her. She learned nothing, just studied the details of the dank and disgusting cave.

Finally the woman reached the water, to which she plunged herself into it without thought or hesitation. It's coolness soothed her wounds and aching bones, causing her to whine in satisfaction and relief. Sabira allowed some of the water to enter her maw as well, bathing and drinking and rolling about.
When she finally took the time to relax and roll back onto her belly, she realized the distant peeks. A greenery she was unable to see before shined like a beacon at their base. Her tail wagged, heavy with water that splashed with every movement. The limb had not moved like this since.. well, certainly not in a long time.

And the wind carried a voice, or at least a feeling. The white and cream wolf must go. To the green and lush base of these mountains, where perhaps she may find peace. Or anarchy. Something to make her life worth all the trouble she had gone through to keep it.
