Shit was fucking boring.

Nothing was interesting and nothing was full of life in any sense of manner. Ivar didn't know what he wanted but he knew he wanted more than this. This existence was boring that the teenager thought he'd take being hunted down by wolves who wanted him dead, over this. At least that gave him some thrill.

He sat, perched high on a rocky ledge as he angrily gnawed on his bones. Saliva pooled in his lips and dribbled down the bone and dripped onto the ground but he didn't care. Ivar was bored, bored and angry and tired of each day feeling the same. The boy huffed as he shifted the bone so that his paws cupped it better and loud was the scraping of his teeth, his brows furrowed and furious. ^^

Wandering away from Blackfoot and her pup, Rosencrantz took a different path to meet with them later. Though he enjoyed Blackfoot's company, she was now too occupied with the youngster to be much else than just present, and Rosencrantz, well, didn't often want to wait around for the youngster to rest.

While wandering the nearby peaks only a half days walk from where he left Blackfoot, the paladin rounded a stone just to come across a curious sight and smell. Ivar, the other youngster that Miriam had taken under her wing in the Wayfarers, but he smelled of a loner. A frown carved its way through his features as he approached, not close enough to be within striking distance, but enough to initiate some kind of conversation.

“Why aren't you with Miriam?” Judgment of the boy was clear as the tone was accusatory. Cutting through the sound of gnawing as he demanded an answer from the troublesome youth he had dealt with prior to the one Blackfoot took.

It was only fitting that the man who sought to always destroy his bones would come knocking. Ivar's bicoloured gaze glanced up as he paused his activities, slobbering over the bone as he eyed him. Half-Face was standing right there. He was frowning, of course. Miriam? Ivar's features coloured with a storm as he resumed his prior activities gnawing on the bone.

In truth, he wasn't entirely sure what had happened with Miriam. He had no idea where she was. "Gone," the boy muttered as he pulled back to glance to Half-Face. "Lost," he corrected. That was... better suited. "All lost," Ivar knew where none of them were. ^^

The boy didn't ever have much to say - at least he didn't change in that aspect. Continuing to gnaw on his bones, he would only give short, one-word replies. Ones that would make the titan's eye narrow. “Clarify.” He demanded. He needed to know exactly what the boy meant by that. Were they gone as in dead, or gone as the boy was abandoned or he had left them?

When he left the Wayfarers it was due to them no longer needing him, Miriam no longer needing him. Guildenstern was likely still with them and Ivar too was supposed to remain and help as he had promised to do upon his arrival... one that Miriam had pushed for. Women... he was starting to see why his home pack didn't bother with them for more than just breeding purposes.

Miriam... Blackfoot... they were both more trouble than they were worth. Adopting puppies left, right and center with no other reason other than "they wanted to" for x y or z. Illogical... annoying.

He looked to Half-face with irritation at his demand, his nose crinkling as he thought to just ignore him -- but his bones were precious and Half-face had habits. "Left, chose to go different ways," the Viking-born sneered as he drew his tongue then against his lips. "Where? Don't know," and he had no reason to go with any of them. Miriam's disappearance had been sour upon his tongue yet he had not found himself itching to try and find her.

To find any of them.

What was lost was lost and clearly it had not been a place for him to be, not properly. Where that was, the adolescent had no idea. ^^

"Left, chose to go different ways," What?! The remaining lip lifted in annoyance. After all that fight to take in the young lad, after all that talk and promises given. Turning away from Ivar to let a snarl rip through his features, huffing and growling in sheer annoyance. It was all a huge waste of fucking time and effort. A single lash of his tail, flipping from one side of his hip to the next as he tried to soothe the rising anger that bubbled from within.

It wasn't his problem anymore.

Yet still. Miriam had wasted his time. He had lost more of his face to help keep them, her safe.

Turning his attention back to the young man, he did his best to hide the ire he felt. Tried his best to soothe the pissed off tone from slipping through his teeth as he spoke. “If you need a place, a pack in the making North from here is open for new members.”

He didn't understand the mans response and Ivar didn't seek to try. His multicoloured eyes watched him yet he didn't seek to ask any questions. He was unlikely to have any answers, anyway. The ones he had already given happened to be the extent of his knowledge on the subject anyway. Half-face seemed to turn back to him, words spoken almost forcefully.

Ivar appraised him through narrowed eyes, wondering what good it did the older man to tell Ivar of a potential pack who might accept him. "No place," the boy grunted, "for Ivar." The Wayfarers had been a bust, hadn't they? He rolled his shoulders, "no place for Half-face?" The boy asked lowly, noting the lack of a pack scent upon the other man.

He had left. He had left before the rest and in the end, the others had followed Rosen's footsteps. Perhaps the wolves of the Wayfarers weren't meant for more than their own company. Ivar supposed that meant him, too. ^^

He didn't care much for the boy, in fact when they were in the Wayfarers he would have been happy to let the boy wander without them and find a more secure group to join than a group of vagabonds. Yet he was one of them, even against Rosencrantz's wishes. There was a certain feeling of responsibility for the boy now, after leaving their group expecting them to continue and not crumble the way they did. “Rosencrantz.” He corrected Ivar into using his actual name and not just his appearance.

“Haldis, they are new and settling in the North. I'm certain @Sorina would welcome you with open arms.” At least this group was hoping to settle and not a wandering pack of loners who just stuck together out of convenience. Out of the necessity because one of them feared packs and constantly got herself into trouble. “You can sit on it and find us there depending on your decision.”

Suspicion crawled through the boy as the man gave him the ability to use his name, almost a correction of demand. His gaze narrowed as he looked to him, "Bone Crusher." Ivar corrected, almost sassily as he held the bones to him possessively. "Rosencrantz." The boy supplied after, still keeping his gaze suspicious as he eyed him. He was borderline pleasant.

Why?

He had taken great pleasure in ensuring his misery by destroying his bones. Before, anyway.

Ivar recoiled as the man spoke of this pack, the one lead by this Sorina and he looked almost guarded as he eyed the man. "Wolves disappoint," the boy stated roughly but gave a dip  of his head. He supposed he could think on it. He wasn't willing to give his loyalty without a care, though, and supposed even if he did join -- if it didn't suit his desires, he would leave.

He flared his nose in thought. "Rosencrantz joins," the boy stated, "Haldis." He tilted his head, eyes still narrowed, "why?" ^^

Bone Crusher. Rosencrantz would only have to disappoint the young man one day again when he didn't use such a silly nickname and instead his given name when necessary. For now, it wasn't... he'd keep it in his back pocket for now at least.

Wolves disappoint the lad said. And silence continued between them for a beat longer as Rosencrantz turned his head to display the absolute horror of his face that had become. Ivar was one of the few who had seen mere burnt flesh, a missing eye - and now the change that had occurred with missing flesh, exposed teeth and gums as the pink tongue slithering behind teeth could be seen at any given time on this side of his face. “I know.” The flesh moved and stretched, easily visible stings of muscle and whatever remnants of lips sloppily flopping as he spoke.

After all, after everything Miriam had never really shown appreciation for what he had done for her. Especially after letting the Wayfarers fall apart. Something that was made for her. For them.

“A purpose... even if temporary. Survival is easier, and if fails, move on to a new one.” Simple enough. He had done so many of times before that he could remember, and times which he didn't. “Take it or don't, it's none of my business.” With that, he turned away from Ivar to return on his previous path. It wasn't of his concern if the boy took the invite or not, only that he was invited was enough for the mountain man to be pleased with his duties here.

As the man turned to expose just what more wolves had done, Ivar ears twitched. His words were useless agreements because his face answered it all, the savagery that had happened to the ivory man all the evidence needed. He nodded, not changed by the way even more flesh was missing and gums and teeth exposed, he had seen gory battles on his fathers men. He knew that Rosen had gone through a lot of pain with his new badge of proof of his survival -- enough to make Ivar not seek to fall back into step with what they had once been. Annoyances to each other on purpose.

Something akin to respect gleamed in his eyes.

Ivar could not argue the logic behind the older mans words and he would tuck the advice away, wanting to think on it before he attempted to give any type of loyalty to another set of wolves. His loyalty was earned now, no longer given by the idea of a mother figure. Ivar nodded, "I think," he rumbled, he wasn't dismissing it but he would think on it. "...Thanks," the boy spoke to the man as he walked away.

Perhaps they would meet again, sometime soon. ^^
