Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

She slept and met, she roamed and learned — but nothing to incline why she was here, and for what purpose she would seak. The land was bleak of packs, a wonder to where they all went as though there was once a few, now they were gone. Unknowingly as well some formed but she had yet to meet and in the end, continued to assume it was bleak. Thoughts to come and wander so, should she? Should she find a pack of her own? Or continue this wayward of lonliness.

She adapted and learned, the place was friendly and no longer oh-so cautious despite the few mishaps.. But in the distance, the snow crunched and the branches broke, and she heard the sounds of roaring. Her thoughts of that caution came back times ten, and she so ran as she saw the figure in the light. Dashing toward her with a ferocity and she — now within the air.

Swept away from the homeland they emerged without nothing but a rage and a ferocity. Wolves plaguing their noise as territories would be invaded, and the bear seeing it's very first. Raging toward, it ran to with a ferocity to grab, paw slapped at the wolf as it rose to the air and he — catching with a maw. To bite down if not for the wolf grabbing at it's nose, and the Iceclaw roared ; dropping the victim to the snow who ran and ran.. Into the blizzardly night.

Now the bear was unrested, and angry by the challenge of wolves.
