Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

The mare was humming a tune as she went along, a jaunty melody in her throat and a bit of pep in her step. She was in quite a good mood, even better when she managed to stumble on a beautiful forest. It was blanketed in purple flowers with matching purple butterflies that flitted about. It was like a fairy-tale or something straight from her imagination! The mare grinned, looking around while her imagination ran wild. Nothing bad, instead, she thought of secretive creature that might play beneath the flowers or perhaps butterflies that had their own societies and herds. It was how she amused herself, vivid imaginings.

She even watched a few butterflies, two of them as they went from flower to flower. She imagined them as two dignitaries, travelling from the different flower villages doing this and that. Bringing peace and news to each flowered town. She giggled to herself, finding peace and serenity in her silly game.

hope don't mind slightly forwarding it in time!

The Lapis Nestle held close to her new home. She felt a bit awkward trying to refer it as one, as sometimes Vermillion unknowingly gazed back to the forests, in a somewhat longing. Although she was relatively ignored, it couldn't be denied she missed the comfort of siblings beside her within the den, and the smile of her mother ; the laughter of the cubs and.. She wondered whether the new brood was doing well. She didn't even see them that well, but noted that some held white. When she thought of it, the young Deorwine took a deep breath while gazing at the white on her chest, before moving forward into the forest.

She was here. Not there.. Especially since, there was a horse in the forest. Not.. An elk, not something she would see in Elkshire, as she stared wide eye with ruby eyes.
