The day was a dreary one, the air heavy with mist. The clouds overhead made up of thin wisps of grey and pink where the fading light glowed through them. The ending of day was a beautiful one and in Northfall, all was quiet and still.

Sindri strode the rocky shorelines of her home, taking a path down off the mountains she had not taken before. She was not disappointed either. Unlike the majority of Northfall's coast covered in rock and slate, this one was different. White sands cloaked the beach like snow in winter. Rounded off, smooth black rocks littered around the water's edge. In the weight of the afternoon, the mists clung all around the rocks, creating a barrier which hid what scurried and made home within.

Sindri walked among the gloom, fog stirring around her peach limbs as she did so. Their beaches were southern facing and so in the distance, parts of the Leviathan Sepulcher could be seen which was not shrouded. The grave land dark, haunting and a constant reminder of that the woman she despised lived within.

He was not opposed to work for his right to stay, to earn his keep. To prove to their almighty leader that he was worthy enough... but he was not entirely all for it, either. He did so in means to survive, to worm his way from the peasantry into higher society, he craved the comforts of a regal title. One where others would do his bidding, where he could happily look down upon those he viewed as lesser. Where he could be admired. For all his sins.

So, like a good valued member of Northfall, Loki had watched the comings and goings, he had learned the ways of the pack and had decided upon the path best suited to rise. He was not the best Warrior and an insufficient hunter... but gathering information, now that was his speciality.

And so far, whispers were that war was upon them. With the dragons from the north.

It had been late nightfall when he had spotted the Regent wander, her pale coat shimmering under the moon's tender embrace, Loki had followed silently; allowing his slender paws to carefully carry him. It was only when they reached the boarder, where the mists shrouded them, where he appeared at her flank.

"It is dangerous to be out alone, little bird...." He hummed, knowing that this nickname used would indeed ground her teeth and get under her skin. His smile turned feline. "Especially in the hardship times of war." He took a larger stride, appearing from the mists, a dark slender beast revealed and fully moving to her side. "Perhaps, you require an escort?"

She turns to the words, a sneer upon her lips at the pet name. At first, she would only see the acidic bright glow of green eyes within the gloom. His walk was slithering, like a cat, or serpent. She snorts as he mentions the war, all canine on her end.

“I'm surprised you know anything of war, granted you've only just recently hit puberty.” She commented with a wrinkle of her lips, mocking his youth. They both were happy with consistently jabbing at one another. “Unless you truly are the God, Loki.” She both knew his name and knew his claims. Was he another fallen god, reborn or was he just full of shit and lies? It would be fitting given his namesake, either way.

As he comes to her side, she would woof under her breath, prodding his shoulder with her snout. “I would be most grateful for their arrival. Let them come, so I may tear into their leader and anyone else who stands in my way.” A rumble against his coat as she then turns back to the ocean view.

Oh, how easy she was to rile. It was a satisfying sight to see her distaste for the pet name used, which only spurred him on further. Though of course he was under Sindri's command... what was work without a little banter? “I'm surprised you know anything of war, granted you've only just recently hit puberty.” And it seemed, she agreed. He pretended to act oh so wounded, reeling back his head to his chest, squinting as a fake wince drew in from his maw. "Sindri, you wound me!" And yet, he could not end it there, no... he had to have the last say. "Yet I think you should stick to your day job, hmm? Sarcasm does not suit you, dear." A chuckle whispered from his chest as the ocean roared behind.

“Unless you truly are the God, Loki.” Ah yes, it was not like he had heard that before! It was oh so original. "Perhaps I am," He played along. "To come for the reckoning of ragnarok." A dramatic sigh. "It is a shame that you do not treat me as such, Regent. Really... you should bow before me." His smile turned feline.

And yet, the touch of her could snout into his dark fur settled the banter that danced between them. His head turned to her side; watching as he saw something... different. A new side to his regent. “I would be most grateful for their arrival. Let them come, so I may tear into their leader and anyone else who stands in my way.” He could not help but smile, and bask in the prescience of this new face of Sindri... it was glorious. "My my," He purred. "Remind me to book front row." His gaze flickered to the ocean. "Is it personal?" He asked; aiming to see if Sindri had a personal vendetta against Dragonford's leader. "It is clear that they--or she did something to you."

Loki was a very dramatic fellow. The ways in which he moved his body, his face so expressive. She truly had come to enjoy their stabs back and forth with eachother even in the little time which they have spent with eachother one on one. Loki was much akin to the God he was named for, surely. This also meant she needed to keep a hard eye on him, too.

“And here I thought sarcasm looked quite well on me, thank you.” She speaks, lifting her chin high to match her risen tail, arched over her backside.

A sneer plays on her lips at his words, speaking of Ragnorok, speaking of how if it were true, she should be bowing to him. “You know, Loki dies in that battle too.” She reminds. “Humph.” She tisks then. “Loki was never one of my favorites of the Gods anyway.”

And then, on the war, “Oh, I can see to it that your standing at my side when it happens.” She speaks, for he wouldn't be getting off easy in this war, either. Northfall would require every fighter they could. The more of them vs their enemy, the less likely they all were to die.

And then, “She murdered my daughter.” She spoke flatly, eyes still focused on the dark, fog covered rocks in the distance.

Her little proud stance earned nothing but a scoff. He resisted the urge to use his paw and press down upon Sindri's muzzle. He wanted to mock her for a cute display of dominance, but alas Sindri was his Regent...it would get him nowhere to truly push the line. While he was the fellow to rile another up he did mostly, know his limits.

You know, Loki dies in that battle too.”  Golden tinted brows rose. Yes, I am well aware. His mother and father were norse enthusiasts, always reciting the stories of old to him and his brother. “Loki was never one of my favorites of the Gods anyway.”  An eye roll was all she would get. Is he anyone's? That sly smile returned, glimmering canines poking beneath his dark lips.

Then came a quip about the impending war. A tsk clicked from his tongue. "Oh, my Regent... do I look like a fighter to you?" He shook his head. He was not built for strength, no. His limbs were too gangly, not enough muscle gripped to his dark fur. He was lithe and agile. Made for the art of political, war perhaps. Yes, his weapon was his brains. His brother took all the brawn.

She murdered my daughter.” The mood dropped, like a dead weight, shattering onto the floor below. Loki was not an overly emotional being, he wasn't sure that he was even capable of true Empathy but the darkness that stirred within Sindri's eyes awoke something within him. With greed, he wanted to latch onto it... but dare he say, he actually quite tolerated the Regent. She, out of all the others tolerated him.

"I am sorry." He let his eyes widen, soften. His smile faded as concern-or at least as much as he could muster-dropped upon his face. He allowed the silence to befall between them. Not quite sure as to what to say, then. "She will get what she deserves, then." His tone lowered. "And when you get the chance, deliver it to her yourself."

Loki was a sly creature, cunning, smooth. In ways, he could not exactly be trusted- not yet anyhow. But Loki was anything but a fool. If this Loki was truly anything like the God, or even was him, he knew exactly what he should and should not do in order to find success within Northfall.

He scoffed and his brows rose, but this was it. By now, Sindri's tail had lowered, rigid out at her backside.

Is he anyone's? Sindri's bright eyes lift to see that glimmer returned to his features, fitting with a toothy smile. He speaks her title, her own brow rising this time and a 'hmmm' on her lips.

“No, you dont.” She said matter-of-factly and yet, with much agreement. Then again, her little body did not say much as far as warriors went, either. She would show any who questioned it that they were wrong.

Then, a stillness. Silence befell the shore, only the stirring of the fog along their footing and the gentle waves lapping them out further from the wolves. Sindri's peachy ears turned back against her skull, his apology heard. She said nothing, her mouth turning down in grim expression, yet her eyes are sorrowful and filled with gratitude.

It is a silent moment between the two, no more words needed and so she moved on. “Not a warrior, but, I may have use for you yet.” She picked up the pieces where they had left off prior. “I'd like for you to go to them and infiltrate, learn what might be useful to us.”

He knew that Sindri did not trust him. Not quite yet. She would be a fool too, of course. He was not a loveable character. Many sneered his way or found him repulsive. It was… harmful when all he wanted was to be adored. Become something more than he had been his whole life.

But of course, Sindri would not know that. He would gain her favour for his own means yet… it did not stop him from growing rather fond of the small Regent. Enough to, care, anyway.

She stated rather matter of fact and that toothy grin grew. Though he could not fight, that did not mean that he did not pull his weight. He had done his part to Northfall, he had played his role as sentry well. Patrolled the boarders when required. Well… when he had to.

And such sentimentality came into play when he learned of Sindri’s daughter’s fate. Now, this was not to say that he cared much, no. But there was a genuine string of sympathy mustered from whatever deep dark hole his heart lay within. He was not a truly cold and callous monster. He had feelings.

Not a warrior, but, I may have use for you yet.” Oh that peaked his interest… dark ears that were relaxed, now perked. Do tell.

I'd like for you to go to them and infiltrate, learn what might be useful to us.” Finally, a task. This would help his cause to Northfall; assure his place and of course loyatly. It shall be done. I shall return when I have enough news to present to you. Oh and what was this? Loki placed a golden-tipped paw upon his chest and bowed. a rare occurrence indeed!

Loki agreed, as he should, if he were to gain her favor. Of course, he didn't have too. He could even leave Northfall if he so chose. But then Sindri (and likely more in the pack) would think him a looser, a coward maybe and surely Loki didn't want that. Who wants to disappoint their pack? They would count of him to help them win this was, together.

A once smirk turned to genuine smile as he lifted a paw and bowed. She dips her head, acknowledging his decree and display. Then Sindri steps forward, touching her wet nose to his slender shoulder blade. “Don't disappoint us.” And then she leaves.
