Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported

For @Leviathan

It had been some time since Sindri had spoken to the yearlings of Northfall. She had insured their safety, offered them pleasantries but equally the space they needed for their adjustment. They were young (younger then her own litter which were near adults now! *gasp*) but well grown and Sindri had hope for them doing well for Northfall should they stay.

This evening, Sindri sought out the male of the pairing. While she may have found out his name from @Amata, Sindri had no means to call it out should his identity be of some secret of his. She follows his scent until she finds him (somewhere within their territory) and woofs out a low greeting.

The boy had been training on his own, something he did rather often. Typically, he would run to gain cardio, but this time, he chose to do some mountain climbing. He was panting and tired, doing as much as his tiny body would let him before he finally laid himself down at the bottom of the rocks he was working with. It wasn't long after he did that he heard a bark towards him. For a moment, he stood up and snarled before he realized who it was.

With a huff, he would settle himself down, still not being used to relaxing per say. It wasn't like his previous home was bad, but he was extremely on edge now that he had left, not putting it past his parents to track him down and make an example out of him.

With a nod, he would look up at the woman, the one who had opened her home to them without knowing them. He figured that Amata, being the trusting girl she was, told the woman his name, but he wasn't going to ask about it now. If she wanted to know, she would ask him. "What did you need?" He asked simply, cocking his head to the side as he tried his best to be nice.

The sandy and sooth boy assumed agression before question, something which Sindri had come to terms with already. It was in his making, from the moment he was born into what was apparently either a blood thirsty or strict military pack- or both.

Sindri did not react to the agression. Normally, she would give another member a piece of her mind teeth should they look to her in such a manner. This had been a mistake and the boy relaxed himself, or tried his best to.

“I need to further prepare...” The woman answered though likely this would ensure further question given how vague she was being. “I need to make certain our young are ready, should Dragonford attempt to take another young Northfall's life.” She speaks this as she casually draws nearer. As near as she could before Leviathan caught wind of what she was trying to do...

To close the distance between them and when she was ready, she would strike. She comes in low. He is a yearling but he is tall and she is not. She hopes to come from below and attempt to seize the side of the youth's neck. Trapping him between her and the rocks he was practicing on may or may not ensure her success.

Why did it always seem to be the few times that he did try to relax and not assume violence was going to be the answer, did it would turn to violence? And people asked him why he was always on edge.

He watched the woman with narrowed eyes, not trusting her or anyone new for that matter, apparently for good reason. It didn't take the paranoid boy long to figure out what was happening and quickly readied himself just as the woman attacked. He pushed himself forward, letting his shoulder get attacked rather than risking his neck or face being bit.

With a snarl, the boy would counter attack, bloodlust in his voice and anticipation in his eyes. He loved to fight even though he was still young. As she grabbed his shoulder, he would attempt to turn his head, aiming to grab at her neck or cheek, hoping to bite down hard and maintain a grip. She had started this and, though this wasn't a fight to the death, he was determined to show her that he wasn't weak, even if it meant taking her flesh.

Instead of trying to back away, instead of trying to rear up and avoid her (which would have been an error in his part) he came forth towards her. Leviathan turned, feeding Sindri his shoulder instead, to avoid attack upon the much more vital side of his neck. She took the bait, sinking her teeth into his blade and pulling backward and in doing so scruching up her neck to try and protect her own vitals.

Still, he goes for her face, his small front teeth slicing gashes into her and quickly she retaliated. She abandoned her grip and turned to take her slender shoulder and slam it into his nose to try and get him to back off as she too danced away.

It was not her style to use blunt force or tear big, deep holes. Now she aims to dance around him, to dodge his attacks. Usually, she would go for all vital areas and sensitive spots- the ankle and hocks of the hind legs, the flesh at the elbows, the belly, the groin. Instead, she tries biting and pulling at his ankles only, to try to knock him off balance and have him dancing in place to avoid her.

Even with his much smaller size as a pup, he was never one to use the quick option in fighting. He enjoyed standing his ground and using brute force to attack. Which was probably why he like to train so much, it helped him strengthen his small body. Even at almost a year old, the boy was rather strong, very athletic in his build and was a pup of muscle, something he was proud of. However, that was doing him little to no good in this fight as the woman danced around him, making his jaws snap together every time she danced away from his bites. It was really starting to annoy the boy and he let out a loud growl. Spar or not, he was getting real tired of her shenanigans.

As she went for his ankles though, he did something similar as before. Instead of jumping away or trying to lift his leg away from her, he simply moved backwards, trying to shove his butt into her face and give her his meaty thigh to latch onto instead. He knew she was much faster than him, so he had to rely on counter attacking rather than trying to simply get away. If she did get his intended target, he would attempt to turn around, aiming for her front leg, though aiming much high near her shoulder. He knew if he went for her ankles, she would be fast enough to simply pull away and he didn't want that.

The sandy and soot boy was growing tired of this, anger spilling from his jaws as he growled after endless clicks of his teeth as he grabbed hold of nothing. Depending on your skill set, keeping up with a sellsword could grow tiring, fast. Sindri was used to tiring big and slow blokes but Leviathan fell somewhere around the middle and still had some height and length to grow into by the looks of his paws and ears.

It wasn't like a yearling to be able to hold their own against a seasoned warrior easily, yet Leviathan was doing well enough, despite the injury to his shoulder and now- ass. Well, not quite. She would end up with a mouth full of his thigh as he fed her this now and she yanks back with it. She doesn't hold a hard grip to pull him along with her, but instead loosens her grip just enough so that way when she pulled backward, she would slice long (yet shallow) tears into his flesh.

She had to let go though, as he whipped around to face her off, biting her in the shoulder. A yipping growl later and she was off again like a bullet. She spins around, finding a distance between them and sits quick, speaking through pants. “Please, sit. I will not attack you again, at least, not today.” She spoke with a toothy grin, one taken right out of Ragnar's book.

He felt her teeth clamp down on his thigh, something he was expecting and ready for. What he wasn't ready for though, was for her to yank back, tearing his flesh with it. It was shallow, but he was also smaller than a full grown wolf and it still hurt. He clamped down on her shoulder but was unable to get a hold. As she backed away, he tensed himself to attack again, only to be called off by her telling him to sit. Was that a joke?

Letting out an annoyed growl, he would sit himself down on his nonbitten ass cheek, glaring up at her. He was still fuming as it seemed he may have some small underlying anger issues. Nonetheless, he would start licking his own wounds, still tense as he didn't trust her not to attack him again. "You weren't expecting me to hold my own." A statement, his body groaning from the pain and tiredness. He kept up with her rather well, but now that the adrenaline was gone, he was exhausted and his whole body ached. He pushed himself damn near to his limits and this was just a spar.

He seemed rather annoyed with himself, knowing that he still needed to train more.

Leviathan sat promptly, lazily and to the side of the thigh unbitten by her and so began to clean his wounds. Sindri licked her bloodied muzzle, half of which was his own blood and half of her own which had slid down to her mouth from the slices on her cheek. It was clear by the manner in which he kept his eyes on her, he did bot trust that she still would not attack. This trust would come in time, should the youth and his girlfriend decide to stay.

“No.” She said flatly, matter-of-factly, at first. The boy seemed rather annoyed, but less so towards her then himself. “But you did and quite well off, for not even being a year old.” She praised, whether he would believe her words to be truthful or not. “You have been taught well thus far.” Though she did not know for certain if he had really been trained or if he had just been repeatedly beaten on and learned through trial and error. He would not have the latter done to him any longer. Not it Northfall.

“Should you and Amata decide to stay, we could practice together. I never grow tired of a good spar.”

The boy listened to her words, a humorless chuckle escaping him as she talked about him being trained well. "For the most part I trained myself, I train daily." Sure, he didn't really have a sparring partner or anything like that, but he did do physical training as much as he could. In reality though, it was the only thing he had now, something that he clung to.

He simply nodded at her words of sparring again, a devious plan growing in his mind. He was most certainly going to give her a taste of her own medicine. For now though, he would wait, knowing that she would be expecting a rebuttal surprise attack within the next few days.

So, instead, he simply nodded and stood up, moving to walk past her towards his den. He was tired and figured that he deserved some time to rest.

His dry laughter suggested an ill childhood. Sindri understood training your children, making them stronger- tougher. She also understood how to be a good mother, one that was loving and nurturing to her pups. Leviathan liked to fight, sure, but the way he acted so distrusting, shielded, it suggested he did not have the care put into him by mother nor father.

When he lifted and made way back towards his den-site (wherever that was) Sindri had no interest in stopping him. He was likely tired, as was she. Sindri lowered down into a lay, content to rest where she had landed.
