The days that Olive passed with @Tiberius in the Elseweyr were easy and pleasurable. It always astonished Olive how, during the springtime every year, all the world's problems seemed to evaporate like so much dew upon the grass. Food was plentiful, the other half of her heart was always somewhere nearby, and she was almost certain that she was carrying his pups. Walrus, who? Shiroshika, never heard of 'em. Planatír? Don't know the meaning of the word.
Of course, there were many things that would eventually need to be revisited, like the matters of @benry and the contention that existed between them, and just exactly where this new family was going to be raised — but for now, everything was calm, and Olive allowed herself the briefest respite to enjoy the warmth of the day, and the other many pluses that came with living in a land of plenty.
With the lack of winter snows, the fowl that nested amongst the cliffside were plentiful. There were many cliff swallows and rock terns, but an odd large-bodied gannet could be spotted here or there — and Olive truly wanted to catch one of these masterful flyers, though there was only the briefest of opportunities whenever the birds would summit the cliff, and even that was a surprise lest someone glance over the ledge to see what might be coming at them. So the ash-dusted woman, without anything better to do, spent the better part of an afternoon leaping and lunging after various birds when they swooped and dove and crested the cliffside.
It felt a lot like dancing amongst a feathered veil, but the potentiality of a snack was what truly kept her going.
