Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

She could hear the river within the distance as they traveled up north and assumed to be closely. So she led the bear-boy to so, following the sounds to until the water itself was within sight. She could see the glistening of it's blue from the sun itself and the quiet stream of running, the occasional splash from the ducks and fish that roamed so and when herself and @Evergreen were in few, the few ducks flew off so.

"The rivers are quite rich with fish," Uriel said as they approached.

Life blossomed around them — from the meadows they went northbound together. Evergreen attempted to fill the air with small talks about the weather, and what he liked of fish and his skills with it; always curious about another’s take and techniques.

Uriel appeared to enjoy fish nearly as much as he, and for that, the bearish boy was pleased — buzzing with energy despite the broken heart he still nursed on his sleeve.

They approach a spot that has captured the golden woman’s attention — the stream bustled with fish and duck alike. He could only smile and nod with an affirmative noise, happy with the choice!

“Yeah, you know your spots!” He exclaimed with a slow wag of his tail. “Ready to get your feet wet?” Eve gave a poor attempt at a joke as per usual, and did not wait for an answer before he got his feet wet. Everything just about scattered when they saw them, and now that he was in the prey’s domain, they sure as hell swam off too. But he was used to the whole bait and wait game.

Uriel enjoyed the minor talking between ; especially it was an improvement from his previous, more lost attitude. She only hoped it wasn't a facade and he truly felt some peace, even though she too knew, it wouldn't all heal to an overnight stay. Maybe she was thankful, to not remember anything anymore. The only memories she has now is arriving to canis, to which even she remembered, that Uriel had memories, but slowly drifted into.. An oblivion. Maybe it was but destiny not to miss whatever she left from ; for a void was there.

She smiled and chuckled faintly before asking, "how do you fish?" As she knew many held different techniques as so. The closer they were, the more she could see the ripples within the water. Uriel would faintly peer over with a craning of her neck as she gazed into the clear river ; an eyeing of the fish that went upstream and the occasion flickering of bugs upon the surface. They were there, waiting for a picking — but she then turned to Evergreen, a wondering to how he hunted. She did the bear method.
