Teeth sunk deep. Finding their way into the meaty structure of his brother’s neck. He’d waited years for this. To feel the life of Vidär be taken by him alone, a rush of lust surged through the map of blooded veins. Pumping furiously in an act of increasing already hidden adrenaline.

He didn’t stop. Oh no. Baal-Berith shook his head. A paw coming to hold down the slowly dying chest that heaved. Trying to pull in oxygen and remain alert to the inevitable. This was going to happen. It needed to.

For years, Baal thought of this day. Memories coming to the forefront causing him to tug on the chunk of meat within his jaws. Yes. Yes. Blood gushed like a berry from the source. Filling his mouth entirely to the point he swallowed. A grunt following shortly after until the feel of a heartbeat was no longer....

Fuck.

This had been the fifth time Baal awoke from a dream starved and angry since arriving to this place. It pissed him off to no hell. No step closer to finding the treacherous bastard who murdered their father.

Gaze focusing back to the reality of the situation. No longer hidden by darkness of closed eyes, he stretched his body. Spine dipping from the bow he’d come to take before rising the rest of him to a stand. Annoyance clear as day by the expression of his face.

Brows pulled inward. Scrunching his forehead and a snarl tugged harshly at wrinkled lips. Their display of yellowing canines for all to see. He was a pissed off male and quite hungry.

His dream having left him in taste for a small pup or even a coyote for the time being. Baal wanted to keep his appetite for canine fresh and needing. Like a rabid dog, the giant male steamed in his own pot of rage. Descending silently from the dark cave ’mongst the mountains and peering over all that lay below.

Despite everything, he craved to hunt. To seek a weak or even lesser wolf to feast on. Perhaps even play around with the doubts of their mind until they begged him to take what little life they held on to. The thought alone pushed him to descend the high peaks. Taking time to walk the slopes and avoid the slippery areas.

With the sun beating down on his back. Nipping at skin hidden just beneath a thick coat, he found himself panting against it.
Peering just off into the distance from left to right. Did he go north or south? Nose tilting to the sky. Smelling anything that gave him an answer to his question. H’m... North it was then.

He didn't know where they went off to - not even a goodbye or anything from @Izumi and it felt like he was struck by a heavy blow to the chest. Was he being creepy after all and she chose to leave with the pack to escape the stalker-y boy in the glaciers? It brought him much sadness to think that he might have chased off not only Izumi but a whole pack as well just because he didn't catch any of the clues the pretty woman must have given him to get lost.

Now more than ever during his time here in the new lands, away from the clouds he wished to return to - he felt lonely. Every now and then he would glance up to the skies and hope to rejoin the soft collection of plumes hovering just out of his reach. Oh to be that carefree again.

Maybe he'll meet new friends and this time not chase them off by being a burden - something he will try now! Perking up and trying to come off as less sombre, the drifter approached the stranger with a smile on his earthen lips. Bright emerald eyes peering at what he could tell was just a hungry stranger and totally ignored the warning signs of danger that he radiated. Most wolves smelled like blood after all, it was their usual diet. Not all liked to eat vegetation as much as Atreyu did.

“Good morning!”

Well. Well. Well.

Had Baal not thought beat the Gods were blessing him of all wolves. A canid scent tickled the walls of his nose. Not leaving. But, closing in the distance of the space between them. His movements stilled from venturing further. Tongue grazing along the yellow taint of his teeth and fangs. The mere thought of food coming to him without the duty of a search and hunt bringing him great joy.

He turned to face the male. His coat far different than the one he sported. But, it made no difference. Besides the fact if one became his meal, he’d spend majority of his time picking away at the fur. Was this wolf even worth it?

”What is so good about it?”

Oh yay!

This guy was willing to chat! With the stranger turning to ask about what made the day so great, Atreyu was unphased by it and only tossed his head up to the skies as though to show him just how lovely it was by just glancing upward. “Spring has sprung! The weather is warm and food is abundant after a long winter - what's there not to like?” Happily his tail swayed at his hocks. Long hairs feathering his tail swaying in the movement as it dusted the ground.

“Or —” Returning his gaze back down to the man, cocking his head to one side with a curious expression across his pointed face. Almost apologetic even as though he thought perhaps already he had upset the man. “Do you not like warmer weather perhaps?” That's right, some individuals didn't like the heat in any way just as some didn't like the cold. It all depended what they were accustomed to.

For Atreyu spring was always so abundant in delicious mushrooms, edible flowers and herbs as well as a few carcasses he could chew on to keep his protein intake up without the need to hunt himself. It often had him forgetting that others had different taste not only in food, but seasons as well.

”Warmer weathers mean absolutely nothing. But, exhaustion. Winter makes food taste… better.” He spoke this while licking his lips. His body circling around the happy male with a look of disgust. Why were some always full of life? When it brought nothing but death?

Death.

Baal knew fully about the word. He carried it everywhere he went. Casting the determination of others with the sharpness of his teeth. Too bad, though. As delicious as the morsel looked, he was far too fluffy for the Devil. Having to tear through the mass of fur to even get to the chunky flesh beneath. ”Why are you so fluffy? You have made for a delicious meal. Ah well.”

Winter makes food taste better? Funny, he could have sworn that other wolves preferred spring for even their prey, as awful as it sounded, they often liked the new youth that sprung fourth from their mother's womb. Atreyu heard it was tender, and tasted better too than adults but he could never come around to such an act. Spring had far too much to forage from and carcasses were more than enough meat for him to pick at. “I never noticed... I'll have to try next winter.” He said with a smile, even if he didn't really think he'd ever go out of his way to try "winter meat" - why argue?

Floating along as the stranger moved around, Atreyu noted the look he gave him - and the tone as well when he spoke... with the chosen words. “Perhaps it's in my favour today.” He continues with the same upbeat tone of his. If this man was a cannibal and turned off by his fluff - then this was surely more of a blessing than a curse to the ol' Atreyu boy. “You know if you're hungry there are easier meals to satiate you than hunting healthy wolves.” Maybe the little native boy could help him in that!

Show him a different path that he might like more!

Baal scuffed at the statement. ”The texture of wolf flesh is more tasteful than deer. While the prey themselves fill some of my needs. It does nothing compared to a nice fox, coyote or wolf.” He licked his lips then. Done with circling the fluffy meal on paws. A decision made to not eat him. But, the idea of a fox did cross his mind since speaking on the subject.

He’d yet to find such a morsel and realized that he was in fact growing a building hunger. ”Healthier the animal, the tastier the meat.”

It seemed this guy wasn't interested at all in easy meals, but instead just preferred the killing of others and feeding off of that. Well, that didn't sit well with the lanky native boy. “I see, how interesting.” Not wanting to provoke the man, Atreyu did his best not to anger him or question too much.

“Well, I suppose I'll be on my way then! Good luck with finding a proper meal to suit your needs, sir.” Atreyu just wanted to leave now and perhaps warn as many on his way of the man who had the taste for canid flesh and to avoid anyone with his description.

With a final dip of his head, he would do his best to remember the man's every detail. From every distinct marking to the way he smelled. He didn't want to stick around and ask for any names or even have the option or sharing his own with this guy - so visuals and olfactory would have to do for now. Cautiously he turned to leave the man to his own business, ears tilted back to listen to any steps that might be making their way to sneak up behind him...

In case the guy was lying or changed his mind and Atreyu needed to start running.

Oh well..

Baal watched as the fur ball on paws ventured off. There was nothing left to do. Words spoken clear as day. He was hungry and that made would not make for a savory meal.

The Devil snorted. Turning away to continue on his way of finding a proper meal to fill his hunger.
