Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write, though the game also rewards high activity
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • Writing is collaborative, and so is our supportive community
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

To say he wasn't impressed with the new surroundings would be an understatement. Orion had no idea what had happened and he wasn't entirely hard pressed about it either. Though he couldn't entirely understand what had happened, all he knew was that it was not that horrific valley he had been stuck with for so long. This strange happenings had gotten him away from the failures and for that, he was grateful.

It was a shame that it was nearly as horrific here, too. He turned his nose up as he realised he had woken in a mountainous area that had little to interest him. He supressed a groan as he shook his fur, trying to shirk off the leaves and broken twigs that had gotten stuck when he had... arrived here.

He suffered a sigh as he glanced around, what was he supposed to do here, then? He glanced with disgust to the mess on the ground near him and he stepped over it with purpose, running his tongue along his teeth. Orion's ears pricked to the sounds that broke through the silence, his green gaze lifting up with accusation.

She travelled somewhere near Vanderfell, in a wonder if she'd find anyone she once knew during her short-time as a loner. It'd be nice if she could nab some to bring back to the pack, maybe then she'd gain a bit more within ranking. Though skill was the key, even she knew if she was more well-liked, then just perhaps she'd gain a bit more respect then the slow start at zero. A long slope, was ahead and though patience was the key.. It was a pain.

Orlaith, was an ambitious wolf after all. Though loyal, at the very least. She didn't care for the crown, but she so desired to gain that standing where others view her in an awe.

"Hey," then there was a figure in the distance. Her nose twitched, for his scent didn't match with the area.. He wasn't near Vanderfell though, but still he was suspicious enough that she approached with a slight arrogance into her stride, "you aren't from around here, are you?" deeming him a threat or not.. Then maybe to drag back to the mountains itself.
